The campus of Skolkovo business school is equipped with the system of protection of power supply based on the Powercom UPS

On March 5, 2018 the Powercom company announced Skolkovo implementation of the equipment of Powercom of VRT for business school.

In the building of a campus, by request of business school Skolkovo, the system of protection of power supply, on the one hand, providing continuity educational and business processes, and with another - protecting expensive telecommunication equipment and the numerous equipment turning a campus into the "house of the future" allocated with artificial intelligence was created.

Key component of network infrastructure of a campus are switches Cisco Catalyst 37XX of a series. For protection of all complex of network equipment against sags in the general chain were included in power supply networks uninterruptible power supply units necessary power to provide continued operation of work of a back office, educational processes, work WiFi- networks, access to training materials or in other words - everything that is in one way or another connected with a global network Internet and the local protected networks.

Except network equipment under protection of the UPS the control and management system for access to the building and also the system of evacuation and speech sensors of the notification shrouding all campus got.

As a result the system of protection of power supply including the UPS models with double conversion of energy was developed for creation of optimal conditions of functioning of a telecom system and other equipment: VRT-10K with the block of batteries and also 30 pieces of the VRT-1000XL UPS and six more powerful VRT-3000XL models.

The convenience of operation of the system of regular power supply created based on the equipment of Powercom is provided at the expense of specialized software, integration into the existing monitoring system on SNMP and the email setup of notifications about incidents.

Due to the UPS installation it was succeeded not only to avoid failures in work, but also to eliminate risk of failure of the expensive equipment which was very high – because of differences of tension arriving from the power supplying company. Decrease in specific costs and minimizing the probability of idle times in work and to an exit of systems out of operation were key when choosing suitable UPSes.
