Announcement of the version of Magnetom RT Pro

On October 26, 2018 the Siemens Healthiners company submitted the new version of the Magnetom Sola MRT-system. The announced platform which received the name Magnetom RT Pro is intended for assistance to doctors in planning of radiation therapy.

The device Magnetom RT Pro equipped with a new magnet and a 70-centimeter opening provides the high performance and long term stability and also allows to plan radiation therapy by means of automatic correction of image deformations, the producer notes.

The software supports the BioMatrix technology designed to balance anatomic and physiological distinctions of patients to avoid space distortions when receiving results of inspection. The Magnetom RT Pro protocols were optimized for reduction of noises and receiving automatic reconstruction of the image.

Construction of a system includes the interface with the positioning lasers for ensuring exact positioning of the patient during treatment that allows to use high-dose therapy. Besides, the new platform for the first time allowed to receive allocation maps of electronic density on images of MRT – earlier this technology was used only for KT-scanners.

Also presence of RT Image Suite — program system for planning of radiation therapy which allows a system to receive artificial KT-images from pictures of MRT is noted, eliminating need of passing by patients both KT, and MR-procedures.

The new software also added the platform of RT Pro Edition for Magnetom Vida — the 3T-scanner provided in 2017. Use of RESOLVE technology allowed to reduce three times the distortions in particular connected with MR-diffusion that allowed to apply images to planning of a dose of the linear particle accelerator.[1]

Announcement of Magnetom Sola

On March 1, 2018 on the European congress of radiologists of Siemens Healthineers provided the new Magnetom Sola MRT-scanner with a power of 1.5 tesla with the built-in BioMatrix technology, eliminating specific noises at inspection.

Siemens for the first time provided BioMatrix as a part of the Meretom Vida scanner in 2017: this program automatically configures MRT-scanning settings, based on anatomic and physiological features of the patient. In addition to BioMatrix Respiratory Sensor which was included in Magnetom Vida Magnetom Sola uses two new BioMatrix sensors: Beat Sensor for registration of a warm rhythm and Kinetic Sensor which will recognize the movement of the head of the patient in real time and then configures MRT-scanning on the basis of this information. Reduction of noises when scanning and more high image quality becomes result that helps to avoid repeated inspections. Both new BioMatrix sensors will also appear on Magnetom Vida.

Besides Magnetom Sola also uses BioMatrix Tuner technology which automatically adapts the scanner to difficult anatomy of the patient, using the CoilShim and Slice Adjust methods. On Magnetom Sola the new magnet with the increased homogeneity which is also reducing noises when scanning is set.

In addition to BioMatrix, Magnetom Sola it is supplied with some other the applications intended for acceleration and automation of routine researches including Simultaneous Multi-Slice technology which provides simultaneous scanning of several cuts, reports Siemens. As a result, according to the company, time of a research of a bone and muscular system is reduced by 46%.

Representatives of the company also said that they integrated into Magnetom Sola of artificial intelligence technology directed to the correct positioning of patients and improvement of different aspects of imagery. Besides, Siemens expects that BioMatrix will become the platform for development of future applications on the basis of AI.[2]
