Network infrastructure of the Şişecam enterprises is upgraded

In March, 2018 the Netcube company announced completion of works on the project of upgrade of wireless network infrastructure of the largest player of the Russian market of glass-container packaging, sheet and automobile glass of Şişecam Group.

The project provided planned technical retrofitting of the main enterprises of Group and creation of modern failsafe geographically distributed wireless network infrastructure. The retrofitting purpose – to provide to Şişecam Group further development and strengthening of positions in the Russian market of glass production.

In a work progress Netcube performed supply of equipment, acquisition of electronic certificates of Cisco SMARTnet providing a possibility of effective technical support from vendor and also performed a complex of works on implementation of the equipment and services in corporate network of the customer.

As production of glass – process continuous, any failure of the systems of marking of products can influence work of production lines that will have catastrophic effects for the enterprise. For this reason works were planned and carried out in such a way that they did not affect the basic technology processes of the enterprises of the Şişecam Group. In implementation process of the project by specialists of Netcube together with IT personnel of the customer the plan of input of reserve controllers in operation for six production sites of the customer was created, tested and implemented (Rusdzham a glassware holding (Kirishi), Rusdzham a glassware holding branch Ufa and Rusdzham a glassware holding branch Mr. Gorokhovets, JSC Trakya Glass Rus and JSC Automativ Glass Alyans Rus in Yelabuga, Posuda LLC to Bor).

The work plan provided minimization of the downtime of the existing access points and controllers required for reset of segments of a wireless network and a software update.

When developing a configuration of network the optimal ratio between parameters of performance, scalability and fault tolerance was considered. A choice was made for benefit of the solution Cisco AIR-CT5508 with the High Availability function. As a result it allowed to provide connection of the existing access points of different models, to integrate reserve controllers with new AIR-CT5508 controllers and also to optimize purchase costs of licenses for those access points which will be established in the long term.

Creation of effective and scalable wireless network infrastructure which possibilities are available both to administrative employees at the enterprises, and to the engineering personnel involved at production phases, markings, accounting and shipment of products became a result of work.
