Aytiproyekt unrolled a RFID control system of movement of containers of nuclear waste on Andreyeva to a lip

On March 22, 2018 the Aytiproyekt company announced ensuring control of movement in the storage area of nuclear waste on Andreyeva to a lip within the international project on ensuring nuclear security using the RFID system on the basis of technology of radio frequency identification.
The organization of accounting of movement and storage of containers with the processed radioactive waste on specially constructed object of temporary storage with a total area of 1700 square meters became one of the most important tasks of the international project on liquidation of a radioactive dump on Andreyeva to a lip. Since 1998 an object was transferred from maintaining the Ministry of Defence to the jurisdiction of Ministry of Atomic Energy of Russia. As of 2018, the storage of nuclear waste is department Andreyev's lip of the Northwest center for treatment of SEVRAO radioactive waste of Federal State Unitary Enterprise ROSRAO branch which is included into Rosatom State Corporation.
Even in the course of construction of a temporary storage warehouse the decision on system deployment of tracking on the basis of radio frequency identification was made. The RFID technology had to not only provide remote tracking of containers, but also exclude need of close contact of personnel with containers with the radioactive waste which is stored in them.
The Russian company "Aytiproyekt" was involved in creation of the solution on tracking and accounting of containers. The software platform of ITProject RFID Server became a basis of the solution. Especially for the solution of the task set for integrator the system of placement and accounting of containers on object of temporary storage according to individual requirements of the customer was developed.
The project of a system, including the specification of the equipment, was submitted and underwent protection at the technical project coordinator from the European party - the Italian company TNE (Technology Nuclear Electronics).

The Proyektinveststroy company became the general contractor on construction and transfer to operation of temporary storage of containers for transportation of nuclear waste on which a RFID system was unrolled. All works on development and installation of a RFID system were conducted in close interaction with representatives of the contract organization.
The temporary storage warehouse provides placement of containers on cells, the number is assigned to each of which, and has two zones - for placement of empty containers and filled and already ready to shipment. Serial number with which empty containers arrive on a warehouse is a unique identifier on which in a system and there is a tracking of its movement and control of filling.
At revenues to an object empty containers are marked by a RFID tag in which the unique identifier, and the label with the barcode which duplicates information written in a tag registers. Information on again arrived container is entered in the database with which the accounting system works, and the container is placed in the storage area of empty containers. From this point information on any manipulations with a container and its contents is strictly fixed in a system.
For marking of containers frost-resistant UHF of a RFID tag of Omni-ID company were selected from the body from the high-strength plastic providing protection against external influences, including against temperature differences on class IP68. This tag saves working capacity in the conditions of low temperatures of a climatic zone in which there is a storage. For remote reading of RFID tags on the containers moved on special loaders on an object stationary UHF RFID readers and antennas of production of the European company FEIG which fix pass of containers through external gate and apertures between internal zones of a slad are set. As operation of a warehouse happens in the conditions of the broad range of temperatures, RFID readers are placed in special metal thermoboxes which protect the equipment from hit of moisture, dust and subzero temperatures.
Movement of containers is monitored by the operator of a warehouse. It creates tasks for placement or dredging of containers for crane operators and fixes execution of this task in a system. Information on location of containers on an object and filling of warehouse cells is output to the monitor of the operator using service of visual graphic display which was specially developed by Aytiproyekt company for this project.
In the project the equipment Zebra Technologies is also used. It is the manual RFID reader and the industrial printer of barcodes Zebra for printing of frost-resistant labels which in addition mark containers.
As of March, 2018, the RFID system of accounting of movement and storage of containers with radioactive waste on Andreyeva to the Lip passed test and is put into commercial operation.
