2018: Start of sales of V300 series
On April 17, 2018 the Toshiba company provided the updated line of internal hard drives of 2018. The V300 Video Streaming Hard Drive series is created for record and editing video and also will approach stream broadcastings. The release of a series matches start of a concept of the Toshiba "Write the History" brand according to which internal hard drives are marked in color depending on the appointment.
The family of hard drives – V300 Video Streaming Hard Drive (V300) – gives the chance to users to broadcast, write, edit and play video on digital video-recorders (DVR), network video recorders (NVR), set-top boxes and TVs. Disks are also optimized for round-the-clock operation that allows to use them and in video surveillance systems. Thanks to the slowed-down rotation in drives energy consumption is reduced by 25% (in comparison with HDD for desktop PCs Toshiba P300). It also reduces heat release and prolongs service life of disks, noted in Toshiba.
According to the developer, V300 is equipped with Silent Seek technology which reduces noise level and reduces heat production during operation. The buffer with a capacity of 64 MB provides smooth performance, the SATA interface works with speed of 6.0 Gbps, and the temperature sensor controls overheating. Models with a capacity of 500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB and 3 TB enter into family. Disks are delivered with the two-year limited warranty.
V300 series is available to buyers since April, 2018.
