SDEK implemented a management system for NeuroniQ queue

On April 24, 2018 the company of Technology of the Future announced system implementation of queue management of NeuroniQ in a warehouse of the SDEK company working in the field of cargo transportation.

To system implementation the algorithm of actions in a logistics chain of SDEK company was rather inconvenient, all transactions were performed manually, drivers independently defined a priority, by personal arrangements. As a result of such actions load distribution on terminals was not uniform. Because of accumulation of machines to some loading terminals and idle standings of others, loads were late that not in the best way affected quality of service of the company. We were faced by a task to create the uniform mechanism which would integrate giving and departure of transport to 12 gate so that there was a harmonious chain of communication between all participants of the distribution center and there were no idle times of machines.

In the course of cooperation the optimal operations procedure for synchronization and automation of all processes in the territory of a warehouse considering high-quality separation of the transport park into three main groups was developed:

  • Trunks – are included by 28 directions across the territory of all Russia;
  • The franchisee – 23 regional directions in the territory of Moscow area;
  • Ports – the 6th large the directions, including air transportation.

Solving requirement of the company for timely giving of a load on gate in all three directions, specialists developed the following algorithm of automation of workflow of the distribution center.

The driver who arrived to a warehouse should be registered in 30 minutes prior to loading according to the schedule, thus there is armoring of the place. After verification of documents the manager, the driver receives a talonchik with information on the direction, a transaction type, planned time and gets in line. At the same time he can directly watch its current status from a cabin of the machine, thanks to street boards, also screens with duplicative information on a current status of queue are placed in the distribution center. In case of motor transport delay, the manager by phone specifies time of arrival of the car, but the reservation in queue is put only upon arrival of the machine. On arrival the car is appointed in the priority mode to the first free gate according to separation on gate, a type of motor transport and the nature of a load. Along with setting in car queue the employees of a warehouse creating a load for sending obtain up-to-date information which is displayed on the internal monitor indoors where there is an assembly of a load. This information includes: the direction / the planned load time / the planned termination loading / number of the appointed gate. Thanks to it while the car waits for the arrival time on gate, there is a formation and collecting of a load.

Working as a link between a management system for transport and a warehouse management system, development of NeuroniQ could organize all process of giving of transport to warehouse gate, using the advantage which is based on the principle of intellectual management of flows. Usually traditional warehouse management systems tie transport to some gate that causes some inconveniences. A system, avoiding a binding to specific gate, will call the cab (taking into account the type of transport and the nature of a load) to the first released gate. It considerably saves time of stay of transport in the territory of the distribution center and as the result liquidates idle time of vehicles in a warehouse. In addition, NeuroniQ SKLAD creates additional opportunities for modeling of processes at the level of acceptance of management decisions due to providing reports with the unrolled analytical data. Obtaining timely information on the most loaded zones, accurate temporary statistics of arrival or departure of machines on the territory of a warehouse, solves a problem of uncontrolled functioning of all components in work of the distribution center.

Thus NeuroniQ system implementation in work of a warehouse of the SDEK cargo transportation company solved a number of problems among which:

  • Reduction of time of stay of transport in a warehouse;
  • Automation of a buffer zone;
  • Timely giving of transport to gate;
  • Coordination of interaction of all participants of process;
  • Warning of the possible incidents connected with the insufficient organization of work of the distribution center;
  • Accounting of the type of transport and the nature of a load at purpose of the car to gate;
  • Optimal use of resources of a warehouse.
