Intelligent Small Outline Power Module (MISOP) is the intelligent small-size power module for surface mount.

2018: Announcement

On April 25, 2018 the Mitsubishi Electric corporation announced release of the intelligent small-size power module Intelligent Small Outline Power Module (further MISOP) in the body for surface mount which will simplify implementation of the inexpensive invertor systems due to construction, compact, convenient for soldering. It is expected that thanks to convenient location of outputs, the built-in integrated circuit of the driver and circuits of protection the module MISOP will allow to create the invertor systems with the printed mounting circuit board of the smaller size and simpler circuit engineering. Besides, installation on the printed circuit board by reflow soldering of solder will reduce the price and will facilitate assembly in comparison with the products requiring traditional installation through end-to-end openings, the developer noted.

For environment protection and economy of energy invertor systems begin to be installed even in engines of small fans, including in internal and outside blocks of air conditioning systems. The intelligent power module MISOP from Mitsubishi Electric for surface mount is intended for the invertor systems in which use of semiconductor modules with low power consumption is required and also simplicity of assembly is important.

In addition, in Mitsubishi Electric company reported that the materials applied to production of this model do not contain mercury and completely meet requirements of Directive 2011/65/EU for restriction of use of dangerous and harmful substances in an electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS).

The module will go on sale on September 1, 2018.
