2018: Announcement of Cios Alpha

On April 24, 2018 provided to Siemens Healthiners the new mobile x-ray S-arc device for vascular and endovascular transactions. In the device under the name Cios Alpha the detector CMOS was for the first time built-in – it allows to receive x-rays with especially high resolution and sharp contrast, i.e. provides a fine precision during endovascular transaction.

Use of CARE technologies (the combined applications) means for exposure reduction that surgeons will be able individually to configure a radiation dose for each patient. The reviewed system concept accelerates workflows, and the antimicrobic surface of a system simplifies leaving and sanitary processing of the mechanism. The Digital Ecosystem interface from Siemens Healthiners allows users to include additional applications at the choice that significantly expands a range of functions.

Reduction of a dose of radiation at radiological inspection often results in inadequate image quality whereas the high dose, despite advantage in image quality, represents risk for health of the patient, the surgeon and other employees. New Cios Alpha includes a number of functions which will reduce a dose when preserving the best image quality.

While different technologies of CARE from Siemens Healthiners help the attending physician to reduce as much as possible radiation of the patient, new algorithms for image acquisition in combination with the new CMOS detector provide high quality of visualization. For example, it is possible to specify previously a profile of a research and to respectively configure a dose, and "smart" x-ray screens can be used for precise measurement of radiation. Laser light tags are used for exact positioning of the S-arc without additional radiation.[1]
