2018: Start of service

In April, 2018 provided to Amazon the tool for creation of functions for Alexa without knowledge of programming. The free service under the name Alexa Skill Blueprints allows to develop applications which teach the voice assistant to new skills, in several minutes, declared in the company.

By April 29, 2018 on the website of the project 21 templates which are distributed on four categories are available: Fun & Games, At Home, Storyteller and Learning & Knowledge. These templates represent already ready skills which can be loaded and directly so to use, and it is possible to remake according to the wishes, having replaced some elements.

Some functions are very simple — for example, allow to create answers to the asked questions only. There are also more creative as those which serve for for creation of an interactive adventure game with participation of the child. Other templates are intended to make Alexa which was more personalized and to train it in interaction with specific family and the house, helping nurses, owners and even a pet, CNET writes.

Having filled fields with own content, the modified template can be published on its own behalf a one click of the button. After that the created skill will become available on all Echo devices tied to the user account. It will be displayed on the closed personal Skills You've Made page of the website Blueprints, the author can always activate the skill, disconnect it, change or delete.

By the time of the announcement of Alexa Skill Blueprints of function through service only the American users can create. Product availability terms in other countries are not reported, however It should be noted that in 2018 Amazon quickly expands geography of sales of the "smart" columns.^[1]
