On June 30, 2020 the company Huawei officially provided intellectual server FusionServer Pro V6 of the next generation. This product uses the technologies based on processor Intel Xeon Scalable the 3rd generation intended for creation of computing systems.

Pro 2488H V6

According to the company, the Intel Xeon processor Scalable of the 3rd generation is available in standard and individual specialized configurations. FusionServer Pro 2488H V6, 4th the processor server of Huawei, is equipped with the Intel processor of the next generation which supports various disk configurations with different input/output devices and also a fixed memory (PMem) of the Intel Optane 200 series.

The intelligent FusionServer Pro 2488H V6 server optimum is suitable for accomplishment of both traditional tasks for June, 2020, and problems of the near future which will demand big computing powers. It has other architecture for calculations and data storage, allows to simplify operation and network maintenance thanks to intellectual control functions and predictions. Main features of architecture:

  • Power consumption of four processors of the 3rd generation of Intel Xeon Scalable is 250 W. DL Boost is supported by data type of bfloat 16 (BF16) thanks to what when using the processor of the 3rd generation of Intel Xeon Scalable the learning efficiency increases by 93% and performance of a logical output to 90% in comparison with the predecessor (FP32) increases.
  • The FusionServer Pro 2488H V6 server supports installation up to 18 TB memories with Intel Optane PMM technology. It allows to increase the volume of OZU, to increase reliability and speed of calculations in RAM and to implement additional options of its use for virtual machines within scenarios of virtualization.
  • Solid state drives of SAS, SATA and NVMe can be integrated for creation of the multilevel data warehouses having the bigger density and performance.
  • OCP 3.0 network interface cards with a possibility of hot swap support a range of various applications.
  • Thanks to support of Wi-fi and port of management USB Type-C the effective management of the mobile terminal and also operation and maintenance on places increases.
  • Use of accelerators based on a broad spectrum of graphic processors possibilities of the analysis on the basis of AI expand, formations of outputs and training.
  • The technology of diagnostics of own development – Fault Diagnosis & Management (FDM) – predicts with an accuracy of 93% possible fault in 7-30 days prior to its emergence, and use of the patented Dynamic Energy Management Technology (DEMT) technology reduces energy consumption of one server by 15% without decline in production.

2018: Huawei FusionServer 2488H V5 server

In April, 2018 according to the results of the SAP HANA Standard Application Benchmark test of version 2 for the SAP Business Warehouse system (SAP BW), the Huawei FusionServer 2488H V5 server broke the record, having shown great result in 6781 requests per hour in a request processing phase (the 2nd phase of the test).

SAP HANA Standard Application Benchmark of version 2 for the SAP Business Warehouse system (SAP BW) – the major and most widely recognized in the industry official test of SAP for the SAP BW system on the SAP HANA platform. Check using the HANA databases in the best way defines the general performance measures of the SAP BW system on SAP HANA devices.

During testing the Huawei FusionServer 2488H V5 server in a form factor 2U supporting four Intel Xeon processors Platinum 8100 or Gold 6100/5100 Scalable and up to 6 TB memories was used. The form factor 2U allows clients to save 50% on quantity of nodes and space in a rack during start of service. Thanks to original Dynamic Energy Management Technology (DEMT) technology the FusionServer 2488H V5 server increases energy efficiency of all system by 16%.

The data packet of the SAP HANA Standard Application Benchmark test of version 2 for the SAP Business Warehouse system (SAP BW) includes 1.3 billion records. The test is separated into three phases:

  • Data loading
  • Request processing
  • Time of processing of advanced queries

The tested FusionServer 2488H V5 SAP HANA model with four scalable Intel Xeon processors Platinum 8180 Scalable (only 112 cores) and 1.5 TB memories showed exclusive results in the second phase, processing 6781 requests per hour.
