Titomic — the Australian developer of printers for three-dimensional printing. The main skeleton of staff of the company is made by the scientists and engineers working in the past in National association of scientific and application studies (CSIRO).
History
2018: Creation of the biggest 3D-printer in world
In May, 2018 Titomic announced as the company approves, the biggest 3D-printer in the world. In addition to the huge sizes the equipment differs in the high speed of work.
By the sizes the 3D-printer is comparable to bus, and the printed models can have length of 9 meters, width of 3 meters and height of 1.5 meters.
According to the CEO of Titomic Jeff Lang, the released 3D-printer is capable to print objects with a speed of 45 kg per hour that by 10-100 times exceeds indicators of the fastest competitors. So, the bicycle frame is printed in only 25 minutes.
Thanks to such characteristics of the technician of Titomic company can create clubs for golf, wings and the fuselages of airplanes, the body of submarines and other large-size metal products.
The Australian developers applied own Kinetic Fusion technology which for printing of titanic elements uses so-called cold spraying thanks to which parts turn out 34% stronger in comparison the titanic constructions melted by traditional methods.
Spraying of titanic powder happens in the special camera where gas heats up, accelerating particle motion of titanium through a nozzle and from the sprayer. This sprayer is controlled an exact robotic hand and when particles "hit" the friend against the friend on a surface, they communicate at the mechanical level using process of plastic deformation.
3D - printing can provide the exponential growth of production speed. For example, it will allow the American producers of bicycles which transfer production to regions with cheap labor power, to return to local production — Lang on the presentation in Melbourne said. |
Titomic found the first clients who showed willingness to use the 3D-printer of the company. Among them — one of the world's largest the producer of the vessels Fincantieri.[1]
