TrueConf provided with video conference the Kingdom of Bhutan

On May 16, 2018 the TrueConf company announced that the Royal government of Bhutan built the protected network of a video conferencing on the basis of TrueConf Server.

Prerequisites of the Project

For the solution of local problems for which administrations of residential districts are responsible employees should consult with representatives of district administrations of the Kingdom of Bhutan. The system of telephony used by the government earlier did not support video conference and joint participation of employees in conference calls that forced workers to frequent business trips between local and public administrations. In the conditions of a difficult mountain landscape of the country such approach seriously complicated work of officials, slowed down the solution of different tasks and response of the ministries and services to emergencies in the territory of the kingdom.

Project Progress

The royal government of Bhutan made the decision on implementation of a VIDEOCONFERENCING system for ensuring communication between the ministries, administrative regions and residential districts of the country. In search of the suitable solution experts of the government relied on several keyword parameters: flexible scalability, compatibility with operating systems Windows and macOS, existence of tools for joint work and stability during the work in slow networks. The visual communication system opportunity for work in the closed state VPN network without access for strangers became important criterion also. Having carried out a series of tests, specialists of the Ministry of information and communications of Bhutan stopped the choice on the system of video conferences TrueConf Server which completely conformed to requirements of the government.

For participation in video conferences authorities of Bhutan use own notebooks with the installed client applications of TrueConf for Windows and macOS, and in meeting rooms — TV-screens, projectors and speakerphones. For carrying out video calls and conferences in permission 4K the staff of the government uses TrueConf Server, client applications of TrueConf for Windows and the Brio Logitech webcam. The concept of BYOD allows the staff of administrations and ministries to participate in video conferences from the PCs and also from personal mobile devices on which mobile applications of TrueConf for Android and iOS are installed.

Project Results

Using the TrueConf VIDEOCONFERENCING system the royal government of Bhutan integrated 10 ministries, 20 public administrations and 205 administrations of residential districts a single system of communication about more than 400 accounts. Employees of the ministries and administrations had an opportunity to contact colleagues, without leaving jobs, and the lack of need for permanent trips allowed to cut down expenses of budgetary funds for fuel and lubricants and traveling costs for employees.
