2019: Start of bulk sales in Russia

On February 4, 2019 the Rostec state corporation announced start of bulk sales in Russia of the Kruiz-K phone with enhanced capabilities of enciphering.

"Kruiz-K" is not the smartphone and not the cell phone, it is the desktop IP phone developed for use in the organizations. The Avtomatika concern, affiliated enterprise of Rostec is engaged in production. The cost of one such phone for February, 2019 is 85 thousand rubles.

Phone was developed for the enterprises of small, average and large businesses, not persons interested to risk confidentiality of negotiations and to be endangered wiretaps from competitors or other third parties.

"Automatic equipment" delivers "Kruiz-K" to exclusively legal entities – to individuals phones will not be on sale. The customer can select any number of devices necessary to it, from one and to several tens and hundreds. Automatic equipment does not specify delivery time – they depend on the volume of the ordered batch.

Manufacturer representatives noted that information on a technical component of "Kruiz-K" has strictly closed character. In work phone uses the widespread SIP protocol and speech G.729, G.711 and MR-CELP codecs. The last works at speed of 4.8 kbps and is used in the communication enciphering mode. In phone the intelligent RIC-2 card used as the electronic medium of a key is used.

"Kruiz-K" can be a part of one IP network to 1000 phone numbers, and phone has the sizes of 175х175х170 mm and about 1.3 kg weigh.

The software of "Kruiz-K" is a real-time operating system of own development of Rostec (the name OS is not specified). In phone its cut-down version is used – for the purpose of increase in level of information security only basic opportunities are left. According to the available data, applied in phone program and hardware of cryptography correspond to class KA, a certain order of FSB of July 10, 2014 No. 378.

"Kruiz-K" provides two operation modes – completely protected and normal in which a talk is transferred without enciphering. In other words, in such Kruiz-K mode becomes an analog of any other modern IP phone without functions of cryptography.

The normal mode is activated when the user of "Kruiz-K" calls the subscriber using phone of any other brand even if the call is performed in the company. Data protection works when the called party uses "Kruiz-K" too. In this case enciphering is performed not only when phones belong to one company or are in one IP network: the technology works and with the calls on the Kruiz-K phones set in other organizations^[1].

2018: Announcement of readiness for serial production

The Avtomatika concern of State Corporation Rostec announced on May 24, 2018 creation of office equipment for the IP telephony. Its key difference from the solutions existing in the market consists in an opportunity to make calls by encrypted link that allows to protect the business interests of customers. Development received the name "Kruiz-K".

By the form the device practically does not differ from normal office IP phones, but can work in two main modes: "closed" — with cryptographic information protection in interaction with the similar equipment, and in the "open" mode — at calls from normal IP phones or the similar equipment. According to representatives of concern, as of May, 2018 there are no analogs of this technology in Russia. The possible number of the devices "Kruiz-K" in one IP network — up to 1 thousand units.

The technology answers one of the most important calls of the modern world, ensuring information security that is important both in business, and in state structures. Besides, this development answers import substitution policy that it does it even more demanded — said in Rostec.

The Avtomatika concern is already ready to serial production of the provided equipment. As noted in the company, interest in it was already shown by both official departments, and commercial structures, preliminary negotiations are already conducted.

The Avtomatika concern also intends to provide samples of the modern communication equipment, subscriber sets for speech, document and video conference, the gateway facility and communication for creation of IP networks of a special purpose, means of information security.
