The Don mining and processing plant is located in the city of Khromtau (Kazakhstan) and as of March 2021 is the second largest in the world in terms of confirmed reserves: chromium ore deposits as part of the main deposit have a length of about 22 km in length and 7 km in width.
In terms of quality, the ore produced and processed by it is characterized by a high content of chromium (up to 62% Cr2O3) and is used for the smelting of ferroalloys in metallurgy, the manufacture of refractories and in the chemical industry for the production of chromium compounds.
