On June 8, 2018 1C Company stated that Armex implemented a system "1C: Polygraphy 8" in the publishing and polygraphic center of the St. Petersburg polygraphic university of Peter the Great. As a result time for calculation and execution of polygraphic orders was three times reduced, the strict priority of production operations is observed, for 25% dead times and excess labor costs were reduced by logistics between sections of printing house. In this system information on all productive activity of printing house is round the clock available. Document flow is standardized, simple and convenient unloading of data in the centralized accounting of the university is provided. As a result the production volume of finished goods is increased by 20%, failures by its production are almost excluded.
Earlier calculation of orders in CPI printing house was performed in several ways - depending on equipment type: in spreadsheets (for risographs) or in the self-written program (for digital and offset machines). Four independent databases were used, each of which had the numbering of orders. At the same time production of printing house is located in three premises which are in different parts of the university. It is made for convenience of students and teachers, but such branched structure began to create big difficulties in management eventually: very often internal blocks of books and brochures are printed on one type of the equipment, but by different machines, and half titles and covers are printed on other equipment. Then all this needs to be brought to one place for final assembly and packaging. It was inconvenient, provoked errors and dead times, increased labor costs and reduced cost efficiency of work of CPI. For many years the huge slow and inefficient superstructure on production management and accounting of orders was formed.
For increase in efficiency of CPI it was required to lead all orders to the uniform standard that all technology transactions executed on the different equipment and in different workshops were conducted and considered in one information system.
For the solution of these tasks the management of CPI selected a system "1C: Polygraphy 8". The developer of this system - Armex company became the partner in implementation.
Key results of the project:
- All technology transactions - prepress, printing and postprinting - now normirovana on time and cost. Calculation of polygraphic orders, beginning from simple sheet products and finishing with books in a soft and firm cover, magazines, by brochures and calendars it is completely automated. The statement of all accounts and documents, process charts and orders accelerated. Everything together it allowed to reduce order processing time by 30% and to gradually increase loading of capacities.
- Automation of an inventory control gave the chance in real time to monitor availability of materials in a warehouse and to reserve them under the specific order. Technologists of printing house when receiving an order see in a system that material is reserved and is in a warehouse. Employees and the management can obtain information on a warehouse status, a remaining balance of paper and supplies at any time and to quickly make the supplier order.
- Unloading of booking data CPI in the general bookkeeping department of the university keeping account in the 1C: Accounting 8 program is automated. Before all document flow was paper and was processed manually. After implementation "1C: The polygraphy 8" unloading in the database of general bookkeeping department is automatic. All orders have now end-to-end numbering and names by which it is easy to identify them. It saves time and strength of employees and helps to avoid accidental duplication and errors.
- The convenient internal system of reports gives the chance to the management of CPI quickly to obtain data on the current activity of printing house: production loading level, order statuses, sales volumes, shipment of orders, payments and debts, to cash flows by different articles of accounting, stock balance, etc. Such exact, everyday information helps acceptance of the verified management decisions and to react quickly to changes of a situation. As a result production volume grew by 20%
"That I very much like in the program "1C: The polygraphy 8" is its multifunctionality: she is capable to provide end-to-end automation of the most different sections of polygraphic production irrespective of the applied technologies and the used equipment. As a result my workplace became uniform command center several production sites". Evgeny Alimov, director Publishing and polygraphic center of Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University
