Big updating of "MyOffice". We show and tell in a video interview of TAdviser

Evgeny Fenyushin, the director of the products "MyOffice", during the interview to the journalist of TAdviser Denis Popovkin told and showed key advantages of the MyOffice office suite and new product capabilities.

The director of the products "MyOffice" Evgeny Fenyushin told about key advantages of the Russian office suite and its new opportunities

Evgeny, I used your product, in general everything is pleasant to me, but there was such question: and what after all his main idea: make the domestic competitor of Microsoft Office or something deeper?

Evgeny Fenyushin: We try to solve more complex problem, more interesting challenge, and our product is focused not only on the Russian audience, on the Russian state or business companies. We consider "MyOffice" as a product which can compete with the world companies, such as Microsoft, Google.

Who your client?

Evgeny Fenyushin: Our client by whom we are guided is private companies and government institutions.

Tell about structure of a product what is specifically included into "MyOffice"?

Evgeny Fenyushin: We turned on in structure of "MyOffice" all necessary elements which provide a full stroke of work with the document. Since storage and finishing with information processing. Respectively if to speak about products, then these are editors: texts, presentations, tables. We give to an opportunity storages of the created documents in the uniform cloud storage, distribution using a corporate mail system or the system of instant messages. And rather important point — as a link between all products, we consider the system of instant messages which gradually evolves and is as a result integrated into all products which we release that gives the chance to users quickly to discuss and resolve issues directly during creation of the document.

Did you mention mobile applications, i.e., "MyOffice" is on tablets and on smartphones, and I can use it fully there, correctly?

Evgeny Fenyushin: Yes, you are absolutely right. Mobile strategy is one of key for development of our product. We support and we release our products on all popular mobile devices: Apple, including most current releases, Android. That is rather important — all products released by us are completely integrated with the server platform and allow users to work effectively including in the joint work mode. The used architecture and technologies which we created allow us to be ported rather easily on newly created platforms. In particular, now we work, including, and on Tizen.

I know that now there is a big updating of "MyOffice". Tell what in it will be new.

Evgeny Fenyushin: It is rather important milestone in development of our products. Those technologies which we developed within 5 years found the reflection in applications. We turned on a set of functions in structure of a new product in the following directions: first, information security. We released the new product "MyOffice" Certified which allows our companies to use it in the protected segments.



We certified "MyOffice" in SAP company that allows partners to execute integration with the systems of SAP at our clients. We give abilities to integrate our applications with workflow systems.

The structure of applications, editors, includes the different functions providing a business intelligence of data. And at last, we increased the number of platforms which we support in our products. In new release we begin to support the Baikal platform.

As a result of two last commercial releases of products of MyOffice in 2018 (2018.01 and 2018.02) the feature set for joint and individual work with documents extended, tools of analytics and visualization in tables were added, protection of documents amplified and printing became simpler. For integration of products with information systems of customers and development of joint solutions the commercial version of SDK is released.

Functions of office applications for daily work

  • Spell check: support of dictionaries, including user, and the hint of options of spelling correction is added
  • Styles: in the editor of the text the user styles, the autotable of contents on the basis of styles and the brush tool for copying of a format are added
  • Reviewing and control of versions: in the editor of the MyOffice Text adding, editing and removal of comments, in the web editor — correct display of comments is implemented
  • Protection of documents using the password: opening of the protected documents, installation and removal of the password
  • Printing: scaling of the page at table printing is finished, web editors support printing from the browser

Analytics and visualization

  • Execution of tables: formatting of cells, turn of images, fixing of areas, display of the text of different orientation, display of conditional formatting
  • Diagrams with accumulation: the histogram, the line chart and the chart with areas

Macroes

  • Macroes in the Lua language in documents of the XODS/XODT formats for desktop and cloud editors are implemented

Document API as a part of a product of the MyOffice Software Development Kit:

  • Insert of different elements: paragraphs, tabular lines, sheets, formulas
  • Formatting: fonts, colors
  • Support of the DOCX, XLSX, ODT, ODS and PDF/A-1 formats
  • Commercial support

Tell in more detail about security.

Evgeny Fenyushin: Security issues are priorities for us and for our clients and we pay much attention to these questions. In particular, permanent certification of our products in state bodies is carried out. Besides, we release our products which can work both in public, and in a private cloud of the company, and at their use in a private cloud of the company employees of information security can control completely processing, distribution and storages of all information.

What functions are most important for your clients?

Evgeny Fenyushin: Function of joint editing is interesting and demanded, for example: we give an opportunity of joint editing in real time on all devices, and it is very convenient and increases the speed of creation of documents.

Secondly, abilities to integrate products with information systems are rather important that allows to provide rather easy creation of documents being based on data which already exist.

And, thirdly, it is, certainly, multi-platform architecture. The world changes and if before priority there was a Microsoft platform, then at the moment time in the company as a rule the set of operating systems, hardware-software complexes, including mobile devices is used. We support seamless integration of all these devices in a single system which allows to create and work with information effectively.

What options of distribution of a product at you? As I understood, you do not sell it, so there are some partners.

Evgeny Fenyushin: Yes, you are absolutely right. The model of software distribution is a so-called vendor model. We release products based on which our partners can build services for rendering services to already end users. The software extends through our partners, large distributors and resellers, and it is possible to purchase the software from these companies. As for SaaS-nykh of services, we have two active partners now: Rostelecom and Selectel which render services in access to the MyOffice applications.

How can my company receive "MyOffice"?

Evgeny Fenyushin: It is very simple. Your company or you as the employee of the company can come on the myoffice.ru portal, select that partner who is interesting to you (as of June, 2018 at us more than 600 partners) and to respectively buy that product which is necessary to you. Besides, you can use our products as a part of a cloud service of partners - Rostelecom or Selectel.

Did you tell that "MyOffice" develops 5 years, and what plans for the next five-years period, i.e. in what direction you want to develop the software product?

Evgeny Fenyushin: The MyOffice platform develops according to world trends, namely: information security, use of mobile devices and joint work of staff of the company. We see main advantages for ourselves in implementation of the maximum quantity of opportunities for our clients according to these trends.
