Red Hat Process Automation Manager

Product
Developers: Red Hat
Last Release Date: 2019/11/01
Technology: BPM

Red Hat Process Automation Manager is the cloud focused platform for application programming and services for automation and business process management intended for work in hybrid cloud environments. Successor of the solution Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite.

Process Automation Manager helps to organize closer cooperation of business users and IT specialists, allowing the first to be directly involved in creation of new business applications without knowledge of technical subtleties, and the second — to retain the general control over applications at fulfillment of requirements on scalability and security.

The platform proposes the solution for development without coding, allowing business and to IT users who automate business processes, implement corporate business policy and make decisions, to reduce application development time.

2019: Use of AI when forecasting solutions and creating applications on the basis of micro frontendov

On November 1, 2019 the Red Hat company announced upgraded version of the solution for business process automation of Red Hat Process Automation in which there was a functionality of the applied artificial intelligence (AI) for creation of predictive models of decision making, a possibility of development of the business applications managed by processes and solutions on the basis of architecture micro frontendov and also a number of improvements for simpler and convenient work with the solution.

Applied AI

According to the developer, Red Hat Process Automation in the provided version supports automation of decision making using applied AI. Users can involve functionality of predictive analytics in the applications for management of solutions within creation of the smart automated systems able to interpret and react better to changeable dynamics of the market. Upgraded version of Red Hat Process Automation allows to import and execute forecast models in the PMML language (Predictive Model Markup Language) which is the industry standard for integration and information exchange between platforms of machine learning (ML) at which these models and also applications on management of solutions which are used by these models for automation of rules of achievement of the set business objectives are created and study.

Red Hat announced upgraded version of the solution for business process automation of Red Hat Process Automation

As noted in Red Hat, implementation of predictive analytics as a part of the DMN model (Decision Model and Notation) not only allows to automate data analysis and accomplishment of actions, but also gives the chance to better understand how the automated system came to this or that conclusion. Increase in transparency and control over decision making processes does work of the AI systems of more explainable and helps to fulfill better different regulatory requirements, such as General provisions of the European Union on data protection (GDPR) where in particular the right to require an explanation of the reasons of adoption of the automated solutions is registered.

Micro frontend

According to Red Hat, along with traditional developers of a business intelligence play the increasing role in creation and deployment of applications for business process automation and decision making processes. With Red Hat Process Automation each of two of these groups of specialists receives the tools adapted to the requirements and tasks that allows to combine regulation and the control so necessary for IT specialists, with advantages of a cloud computing architecture.

The monolithic code of the interface part (frontend) of applications often prevents to implement fully advantages of the cloud focused and more modular and lightweight architecture like container microservices. The App Builder component updated in the provided version of Red Hat Process Automation promotes increase in modularity, allowing the customer to execute decomposition of the client interface of the applications managed by processes and solutions on micro frontendy which can be controlled independently of each other that increases scalability, reconfigurability and controllability of the application, emphasized in Red Hat.

Upgraded version of Red Hat Process Automation offers the following features mentioned by the developer:

  • Automation using L2-операторов OpenShift. These operators simplify deployment and management of Red Hat Process Automation on the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform platform, automating management of lifecycle at the solution of such tasks as installation of a system, deployment of corrections and updating to intermediate versions. OpenShift-operators help to minimize operating costs and maintenance of a system in current status and also to reduce unplanned idle times.
  • The increased visibility of processes. Additional functions, including the heat maps cards, improve visualization of work of processes and bottlenecks in a system.
  • Failsafe configurations. An opportunity to use the engine of processing of difficult events in configurations with several nodes provides continuity at failure of a node. Support of high availability (in the version of technology preview) provides additional protection against data loss on a case of failure of the OpenShift node at which Business Central copy works for the Business Central component. Failure of a node does not interrupt the user session and takes place without loss of BPMN, DMN and other elements with which the user worked.
  • The configured templates for optimization of business resources. The Business Optimizer component includes the configured templates for standard problems of optimization on the basis of OptaPlanner Open Source project.

As of November 1, 2019 upgraded version of Red Hat Process Automation is already available to loading on the Red Hat Customer Portal portal.

"The trust is a fundamental factor for business. In conditions when smart automated systems even more often carry out work with clients, it is important to understand as well as why these systems make decisions. Red Hat Process Automation allows customers to integrate the forecast model and models of decision making to increase efficiency, efficiency and intellectuality at the expense of the process focused applications and also to make work of artificial intelligence more explainable and clear",

"Successful digital transformation inevitably leads to evolution of internal transactions and decision making processes and also to changes in customer interaction. In this context of artificial intelligence technology can increase the value of project automation by different methods, helping to cover transformation more scenarios and to bring more benefit. Predictive acceptance the solution was historically performed separately, in a separation from daily work, but in the modern world the organizations even more often need to integrate these things that processes became really smart",

2018: Release of version 7

The Red Hat company, world solution provider open source, announced on June 20, 2018 release of Red Hat Process Automation Manager 7. Process Automation Manager helps the organizations to optimize, automate, provide multilateral control and to continuously improve business processes.

The provided version of the platform of business automation of Red Hat offers a number of opportunities, such as:

  • Development of cloud applicaions
    • Process Automation Manager 7 expands possibilities of business process automation due to direct support of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, the Kubernetes-platform of a corporate class that allows the customer to accelerate and reduce the price of development, testing and deployment of cloud applicaions for business automation in the form of container microservices for hybrid cloud environments.

  • Dynamic management of cases

    • Functionality for work with dynamic, situational and other unstructured processes which badly give in to automation within traditional model. Process Automation Manager allows to deepen and expand business process automation at the expense of the improved visualization and the organization of their purposes, results, processes of interaction of employees and the accompanying services, for example, at identification and investigation of attempts of fraud and in other poorly formalized scenarios.

  • Visual development with a coding minimum

    • Process Automation Manager offers instruments of rapid development which provide creation of user interfaces, modern, functional and not dependent from type of the end device, for the applications managed by business processes.

Red Hat Decision Manager — the platform of decision making simplifying development and deployment of the applications and services managed by business rules and also the scheduler of business resources on the basis of the open OptaPlanner project also are a part of Process Automation Manager.

Red Hat Process Automation Manager is already available to loading to participants of community Red Hat Developer and also customers on the Red Hat Customer Portal portal.
