On July 3, 2018 the OntargIT company announced completion of implementation in Orion.Group of a cloud platform of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (for Sales) which allows to automate completely a sales cycle and gives the chance more effectively to work with each client. Project implementation was executed by OntargIT company.
Premises and project objectives
At the beginning of 2017, in connection with active development, in Orion.Group the number of projects which required bigger attention, management and control increased. Due to growth of business there was a need to increase efficiency of sales and to build a management system for work with clients so that to have an opportunity to control all sales processes: from the first contact with the client before closing of acts and preparation of the agreement on maintenance. It was for this purpose necessary to increase also internal control of work of staff of Orion.Group who were involved in sales process of projects and to provide:
- Full control of sales process on each of its stages.
- Possibility of purpose of tasks to employees and control of their execution.
- Reduction of time for approvals of documents in the company.
- Effective internal communication of all employees involved in sales process (team working).
For the solution of these tasks the management of Orion.Group needed to build a single centralized system of customer relation and to automate process control of sales.
Project Progress
According to the results of the tender for project implementation the OntargIT company with the solution M_crosoft Dynamics 365 was selected. Reliability of the offered platform became the main criteria for the choice and also: the flexibility, scalability, broad functionality of the proposed solution which standard functionality completely covers processes of the client and gives the chance of further expansion of functionality of a system.
The project started in September, 2017. Implementation assumed the maximum use of standard functionality of M_crosoft Dynamics 365 and minimizing of programmable modifications.
At the initiative of the Customer the staff of Orion.Group took active part in implementation process that allowed to increase the level of technical training of a command of the company which will be able independently to accept further all necessary steps on support and development of a system.
Project Results
For July, 2018 in Orion.Group sales process with implementation of nontrivial logic of calculations of commercial offers for engineering projects – calculations of works and materials for the production and mounting directions separately is completely automated. There was an opportunity to conduct in uniform base all customer information and contractors, to build transparent customer relations at all stages of sale: from the first contact and agreement signature, before drawing of accounts and signing of acts of delivery of the performed works. Also other standard opportunities of the M_crosoft Dynamics 365 platform which improved communication in a command and resolved an issue of quality and structuring data were involved. For example, an opportunity appeared, in a system to carry out personel assessment (according to skills) for involvement of necessary specialists to accomplishment of these or those work types.
In parallel in Orion.Group one more of the main objectives of this project – resource planning and personnel labor costs was solved. In the future the Customer, based on planned and actual targets of labor costs, will be able to optimize production works of the divisions and also will have an opportunity to provide more exact estimates in offers for the clients at a stage of sales.

The project is complete in May, 2018. Orion.Group is going to continue cooperation with OntargIT on technical support of the implemented solution, and further development of the M_crosoft Dynamics 365 platform.
