Talmer completed implementing solution on aggregation of traffic on network of MegaFon

On July 4, 2018 the Talmer company announced project completion of implementation of the complete solution for traffic handling on network of MegaFon based on TAP Aggregation hardware-software complex from Arista Networks. The project is implemented in four macroregional branches of the telecom operator: Volga region, Capital, Central and Caucasian.

The plan for upgrade of a core of network of MegaFon company became premises to project implementation. Unification of the equipment and algorithms of traffic handling was a key project objective.

To specialists Talmer the task of implementation of the solution of the choice of interfaces which is most meeting to a broad set of technical requirements on performance, scalability, flexibility and an unlimited number of rules of aggregation of traffic was set. In selection process of the suitable solution the set of hardware-software complexes was analyzed. As a result a choice was made for benefit of the solution TAP Aggregation.

The scalable solution of TAP Aggregation based on switch Arista 7280CR-48 is integrated in a section of a subsystem of a packet transport network and a core of a backbone network of the macroregion. The equipment allows to select traffic, to make multilevel and difficult aggregation, to analyze and perform transportation of network traffic to sources in all macroregional branches.

As noted integrator, the implemented solution has several advantages: the flexible choice of interfaces 10G/25G/40G/100G, on each port it is possible to set not less than 40 criteria on selection of traffic, lack of dependence of capacity of the device on the number of rules of aggregation, the number of sessions of mirroring are not less, than number of the processed sources, acceptance of the mirrored traffic from network switches not less 400gb/page. Also TAP Aggregation allows to have the centralized idea of network condition as in real time, and to perform unloading for the last periods using the system of the orchestration. The implemented solution does not create additional load of network equipment in view of lack of need of processing of the duplicated data.
