On July 9, 2018 the Ruselectronics holding provided to State Corporation Rostec a mass-produced model of the new version of the domestic protected EC1866 notebook for extreme operating conditions. The computing core of the computer is based on the Russian microprocessor "Elbrus 1C+".
The notebook can be used by law enforcement agencies for the solution of different tasks of management and work with the classified information in field conditions. Also it is expected civil application, for example, in the industry, logistics, agriculture, for delivery of health care out of medical institutions or in the conditions of emergencies. According to Rostec, the holding is completely ready to serial production of this computer.

The hermetic package of the notebook is executed of heavy-duty aluminum alloy. It is distinguished by resistance to influence of external factors, such as vibration, blows, extreme temperatures (from-20 to +55 °C), moisture hit. The computer is equipped with the 17-inch screen and has dimensions 41.3 x 34 x 8 cm. Thanks to modular construction of EC1866 the possibility of the choice of architecture of the central processor without design change is provided.
The provided computer works running the Russian Elbrus operating system, however, according to developers, on it any other system, including special purpose OS Astra Linux can be installed.
