In July, 2018 the large Japanese supermarket chain AEON announced system implementation of payment of purchases according to the drawing of veins Fujitsu PalmSecure. It is noted that it is about the first start of such technology in retail stores.
Within a pilot project some outlets of Ministop of AEON company began to be equipped with biometric scanners. Clients are registered previously in service AEON Credit Service, providing it the personal data and images of the drawing of veins from the palms. To an account the bank card is linked.
The buyer connected to such system, having approached on cash desk, pays goods by simple touch of a palm to the scanner and also input of date of the birth in the terminal. This information goes to the server of Fujitsu where there takes place authentication of the person. Then data come to the center of authorization unrolled by AEON Credit Service which finally checks all data and accepts payment if all transactions took place successfully.
Thus, this biometric solution allows to make purchases, without getting not only cash or bank cards, but also smartphones or the smartwatch.
Fujitsu assures that the technology has the high accuracy of recognition of the person as his palms contain a large number of the veins located in a unique way. As identification data are literally stored in the user, to commit falsification and deception of a system impracticablly.
According to the statement of the producer, the recognition error with one repetition makes 0.01%, and the probability of the wrong determination of the owner is even less — 0.00001%.
At first development will be experienced in small shops AEON, and further it is going to use it in different outlets of group.[1]
