Total is focused on Internet of Things, smart automation and Agile

On July 17, 2018 Total announced creation of the center of digital innovations for the purpose of development and further use of the advanced information technologies. As the partner of the French oil and gas company in this project the Indian IT service provider of Tata Consultancy Services acted.

The center of innovations Total located in the Indian city of Pune will focus on the digital technologies improving the different fields of business. In particular, it is about analytical and cloud tools, "smart" automation, Agile and Internet of Things.

For such large industrial group as Total, it is always very important to be one step away ahead in such things. After integration of digital technologies within group we want to invent new, having integrated a know-how of Total with flexibility of Tata Consultancy Services — the senior vice president and the technical director of Total Marie-Noëlle Semeria said.

It is noted that cooperation will be constructed on the developed Tata Consultancy Services of the concept entrepreneurship-in-residence. At the same time the staff of the oil and gas company will closely interact with experts and technologies of the Indian partner.

At the first stage cooperation of Tata Consultancy Services and Total will concern development of digital technologies for oil refining and performance improvement of oil refineries. In particular, technology innovations should help the customer to improve energy consumption indicators at the enterprises, cost efficiency of industrial production and availability quotient of products.

According to plans of Total,  the new center of digital innovations will help to create the concept of intellectual oil refinery which will allow Total to increase competitiveness in the field of oil processing.^[1]
