Airbus and International SOS will study a possibility of use of drones for delivery of medical loads

The companies Airbus and International SOS, the international company in the field of medical services and a medical assistans, signed on July 24, 2018 the memorandum of understanding for studying of opportunities of use of aircrafts or unmanned aerial vehicles for delivery of medical loads.
Within the agreement of Airbus will help to pick up and implement reliable schemes of delivery of medical loads by airplanes or unmanned aerial vehicles within the MedSupply program of International SOS company. The MedSupply program includes delivery of medications and the equipment, rendering specialized medical services for the purpose of prevention of health and rendering emergency aid in the cities and the remote regions. The companies will also study possibilities of delivery of medical loads from the city to rural areas and from sea vessels on the coast.
Airbus and International SOS will cooperate in the field of safe and large-scale delivery of medical loads drones from point A in point B according to requirements of local regulating authorities. International SOS is engaged in the emergency evacuation and medical supply worldwide.
We hope to establish close partnership with International SOS to deliver medical freights using unmanned aerial vehicles. Our modern technologies will help to save lives and will transform spheres of medical care and security of travel — the CEO of Airbus Defence and Space Dirk Hoke noted. |
The companies will study possibilities of delivery of medical loads in Singapore and Indonesia: for this purpose they will cooperate with local governing bodies of civil aviation and the sea authorities of both countries. If tests are successful, International SOS will implement air transport of medical loads worldwide. Within the memorandum of the company will also consider the possibilities of cooperation in the field of mobile hospitals, space and satellite services.
