In July, 2018 at the airport of Oslo the automated system of face recognition of MorphoFace of production of the French company IDEMIA was unrolled. A system on the basis of MorphoWAY technology was started in the new check point of the automated border control — now passengers do not ask to show the passport, it is enough to scan the person, having passed along a special corridor.
MorphoFace was already successfully started the new Changi 4 terminal of the Singapore airport and is applied in customs service of New Zealand. The airport of Oslo became the Europe's first owner of a new system.
Start of MorphoFace matched a summer peak load of the airport. A system replaced outdated infrastructure, having increased capacity of the automated points of border control. The IDEMIA technology takes and will recognize the image of the person in the movement. At the same time a system has no moving parts and does not use additional sources of lighting. MorphoFace provides the free overview of all gate and promotes increase in the general security, at the same time without delaying passengers.
The project was executed in close cooperation with Avinor airline, the Norwegian police and the local partner of Seca Solutions AS entering into Dormakaba Group concern. IDEMIA developed a new system according to local requirements. Integration of MorphoFace with other systems allows not only to register passengers at arrival and departure, but also to carry out deleted monitoring for the benefit of the Norwegian police - with Avinor as the official contractual partner, - and also to interact with national, European and international control systems.
The complete range of solutions of IDEMIA for registration of passengers is intended for identification of the personality and should help both passengers, and the staff of airlines and airports.[1]
