Testing of a segment of a metrocluster of CommCloud

On August 1, 2018 it became known that to Wirth Sistems held stress testing of a segment of a metrocluster of CommCloud designed to ensure smooth operation of IT infrastructure of large and medium business. The purpose of testing was to reveal potential problems in operation of the hardware of servers, to detect weak points in work of CPU and ESKAR and further to eliminate them.

The team of administrators of CommCloud held testing using LINPACK library within 72 hours. During passing of the test performance measures of servers were close to maximum. Processors and RAM were involved not less, than for 90%. All servers and the started virtual machines worked steadily without any failures and hangups, and the tested equipment elements, processors and memory did not show faults.

On the tested servers it is set and the hypervisor is used VMware ESXi. Servers are united in a cluster. For their full-fledged loading on each of servers of a cluster 20 virtual machines were created. Use of a set of virtual machines is caused by need of point load distribution on elements of servers and testing in the conditions of the most approximate to production environment. Virtual machines were created with parameters: OS Windows Server 2016 Standard, CPU - 4 cores on 3GHz, the RAM – 37 GB, HDD – 150 GB. The LINPACK test which library is intended for the solution of an accidental linear equation system by Gauss's method on multiple processor systems and is used for formation of TOP500 list (the rating of five hundred most powerful computing systems of the world), was started on each virtual machine in two - the three-line mode, at the same time OZU was used on 32GB. The size of a matrix of a linear equation system equal 65486 was selected proceeding from the volume of OZU of the selected virtual machine. Calculations were made on formula 2n3/3 + 2n2 (n is the matrix size).

The Enterprise-solution is constructed on components of Lenovo.

Test results confirmed reliability of the equipment of Lenovo and also quality of assembly and transportation. By the next step it is going to carry out DR testing and performance tests on standard configurations of information systems. Ilya Popov, director of IT infrastructure to Wirth Sistems

Preparation of a segment of a metrocluster of CommCloud

On July 20, 2018 the Linxdatacenter company announced rendering assistance of Virtu Systems company in end of the first stage of preparation of a segment of a metrocluster of CommCloud for providing on its basis of insurance services and products on cloud model. For implementation of a task the company selected option with deployment of the cloud Enterprise-solution on the Moscow platform Linxdatacenter on the private cloud model. The DPC provided to the customer access to MVP (minimum viable product) – the minimum working configuration of a prototype of the information system Virtu Systems.

The solution is completely constructed on components of production of Lenovo. As hardware computing systems the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR630 servers, for data storage – Lenovo V5030 array, and for data transmission – the Fibre Channel the Lenovo DB610S switch are used 1U. Read more here.
