CTC Media started a television complex on the basis of virtualization, IP видеопотоков and SDN

On August 2, 2018 announced CTC Media start of a technical television complex. The hardware and software system combines virtualization, use not compressed IP видеопотоков and program-controlled network (SDN). The project investment cost is not disclosed.

After consultations with potential contractors we made the decision to go within the strategy: not use a traditional technique based on SDI technologies, and construct a complex using IT. As a result thanks to our partners – corporations DNK and Imagine Communications – summer of 2018 of CTC Media were started by one of broadcasting complexes of century Russia. Start of a complex will allow to solve a number of problems of radical improvement of services of management and control of TV and radio broadcasting processes. Such problems as black fields, macroblockiness, mistiming of a sound and the image are practically excluded.

Besides, the holding had an opportunity to increase additional channels in a few minutes and to pass with SD to HD almost instantly.

This complex uses standard IT solutions and the equipment that allows to expand more flexibly a complex under required requirements and to save capital costs.

The project is separated into two stages. The first includes opportunity for formation and issues in air to eight signals of standard (SD) and high definition (HD). The second stage is a systematic transfer to the updated platform of 24 more signals of TV channels "CTC Media" which is planned for the end of the first quarter 2019.
