2018: Announcement

At the beginning of August, 2018 the Atoun company entering into Panasonic corporation provided "robotrousers" HIMICO intended for people with violations of the musculoskeletal device. Products it is developed on the basis of technologies of Panasonic.

Financing of the project provided the Japanese agency of medical research and development (AMED) in 2010 within the program of assistance to complex medical research and development, including robotic devices. The clinical applicability of a robotic suit exoskeleton was studied by doctor Masahiko Sumitani from the University of the Tokyo hospital – he investigated potential impact of HIMICO on rehabilitation of patients with defeats of the musculoskeletal device and also application for healthy elderly people.

Sumitani expresses hope that application of a robotic suit will not only reduce expressiveness of symptoms, but also to serve for prevention of associated diseases.

Panasonic provided robotrousers for people with violations of the musculoskeletal device

The robotic HIMICO suit weighs only 3.5 kg and it is considered more convenient, than normal emergency devices. The special design allows to put on and remove easily it without assistance thanks to what patients will be able easily to integrate it into everyday life. Besides, healthy elderly people for easy exercises – walking and walks on skis will be able to use it. Panasonic company in cooperation with the Olympic and paraolympic committee of Tokyo already made a demonstration experiment and plan further improvement of a prototype.

Atoun and Panasonic are going not only to improve functionality of HIMICO, but also to continue development of other solutions for maintenance of a healthy lifestyle and preserving of health. As for HIMICO, by August, 2018 the suit is tested, and is going to bring it to the market in 2019.[1]
