Metafrax + Oracle E-Business Suite (OEBS)

The Oracle corporation of the CIS announced in April, 2012 that in group of diggings Metafrax, the Russian producer of methanol and its derivatives, the uniform corporate information system with a complete scope of production and asset management is put into commercial operation. The project on the basis of Oracle E-Business Suite R12 is executed by a project team of the enterprise in seven months and is complete for two months before the planned term.

Since 2003 the company successfully uses the ERP system of Oracle E-Business Suite R11. At the end of 2010 the Board of Directors of Metafrax made strategic decision on transition to the new version of Oracle E-Business Suite R12. Need of the project was caused by requirements of the shareholder for creation of management company of a chemical division of Metafrax Group. A main objective — creation of modern architecture of an information system of group on the basis of the solutions of Oracle which are successfully used in Metafrax.

Upgrade covered all key activities of Metafrax: management of material stocks, sale, supply, material flows, fixed assets, settlings with suppliers and buyers, money, discrete production, specification, costs, continued production. Closing of the period took place in a new system according to terms from regular regulations of closing of the periods of the enterprise that became an important milestone of the project, reported in Oracle. For preparation of accounting records in a new system it was not necessary to move up schedules or to increase amount of works. A transfer of the enterprise for work in the new version of software is made without loss of controllability by business.

During the project the corporate information system was expanded the full-function solution for enterprise asset management (Oracle Enterprise Assets Management) that allowed to optimize business processes, critical for the company. Among them — planning of repairs of own rolling stock in real time on the basis of data of GVTs Russian Railway and also the cost accounting on repair for the expensive equipment.

The project is executed by a team of the customer with participation of specialists of Oracle Consulting as functional architects and experts.
