On August 29, 2018 the LG Electronics company (LG) provided the first OLED TV with the resolution of 8K (7680 x 4320). As told TAdviser in LG, the quality and image clarity of model 8K OLED TV with the diagonal of 88 inches is reached thanks to 33 million self-highlighted pixels and deep shades of black.

According to the experts LG, the market of TVs with the resolution of 8K as of August, 2018 still is in a formation stage. Nevertheless, according to forecasts of LG, by 2022 growth of number of such devices will exceed 5 million units. The company also predicts increase in number of OLED TVs in the market twice in 2018 with exceeding by a level indicator in 9 million units by 2022. LG expects to continue to increase the share of OLED TVs in a segment of models of a premium class and to accelerate rates of transition of consumers to OLED TVs. At the same time, the company hopes to head the market of an ultra-premium class with technology 8K OLED TV, told TAdviser in LG.
