Eplan Preplanning is the solution for preliminary planning of productions, buildings and machines.
The product supports the different approaches to preliminary planning — graphic focused, based on databases or combined. Anyway, project data become available to all specialists involved in the project, whether it be GIP, the technologist, the electrical engineer, the specialist of instrumentation and automated control systems or the design engineer.
Using Eplan Preplanning it is possible to enter in a unified environment of end-to-end design information on different technical aspects of the project at its earliest stage. Based on these data, in the environment of Eplan both acceptance of technical solutions, and creation of a wide range of the project and work documentation can be automated. So, for example, schematic circuits, connection diagrams and connections can be generated by a system automatically.
2017: Announcement of version 2.7
As it became known on August 14, 2017, upgraded version of Eplan PrePlanning from Eplan company has own functionality for work with pipelines now. Users also had an opportunity to define cable connections, information on which can be used in the specification and for further design.
Centralized operation by these data reduces labor costs, at the same time, improving quality of the project.
The module Eplan PrePlanning of version 2.7 will be available in September, 2017, expanding EPLAN platform scopes. The possibility of outline design — as on the basis of graphics, and focused on the database — helps to do development processes more integrated and effective: from outline before detailed design, noted in Eplan. It is reached by means of the mechanism called "preliminary connections" — the elements of the database of outline planning defining connections between segments. They describe, for example, pipelines or cables laid at a stage of preliminary planning explained in the company.
Data which describe pipelines contain a pipe class and also the substance flowing on a pipe — for example, water, oil or oxygen. Users will be able to define required classes of pipelines and substance in the project as templates, and they should not enter initial data individually. Thus, project development time is reduced.
Pipelines in the program can have color coding according to proceeding on them Wednesday. Thus, passing of flows on schemes is automatically and visually monitored. The class of a pipe and optional data can be also saved through the corresponding connections.
By means of the module Eplan PrePlanning users can execute initial steps of design directly in Eplan, defining any technical aspects of the project on initial stages of development.
Development of the machine or the plant, as a rule, has separate phases within which a certain amount of works is made. Eplan PrePlanning allows to integrate them in a whole and to provide integrity and unity of data.
In a phase of outline design the main characteristics for the machine/plant are defined, and predesign of costs is made. The purpose consists in identifying the most technically profitable solution and to define specifications for the subsequent detailed design.
Schematic creation and separation of installation into components can be implemented on the basis of preliminary planning. The schemes P&I — an integral part of documentation of the plant.
Among features there is Eplan PrePlanning of version 2.7:
- determination of pipelines with a source and the purpose on a preliminary stage, even before wiring design P&I;
- assignment of the code and other information (for example, designation) to the pipeline;
- display of pipelines on P&I schemes by means of specialized tools and the equipment of instrumentation and automated control systems;
- controlled insert or removal of pipelines;
- creation of reports, specific to pipe postings.[1]
