Biography

2000-2013

In 2010 Charles Myers joined Equinix, having headed representative office in North and South America. In the 2013th he was appointed the operating officer of the company.

2018: Appointment of Equinix as the head

As noted in the press release, Charles Myers is an important figure in the company, and it is confirmed by financial performance which is shown by Equinix: in 2000 when Myers joined the company, its revenue made $1.2 billion, and at the end of 2018 sales at the level of $5 billion are expected.

Charles Myers became the CEO of Equinix instead of Piter Van Camp who temporarily held this position since January, 2018. The former CEO Steve Smith resigned the authority after 11 years of the management of the company which, according to him, "treats respect of activity of employees badly".

Before becoming the CEO of Equinix, Myers was a president on strategy, services and innovations, directing commands on development of technologies, strategy and business.[1]

After the statement for Myers's appointment the head of Equinix of a stock of the company rose in price for 0.7% and reached a point in $437.69. Since the beginning of 2018 and till this day the quotations of the operator of data centers decreased by 3.4%.
