GIS of the Kirov region is translated to the updated platform

On September 17, 2018 it became known that specialists of the Center of the strategic development of information resources and management systems subordinated to the ministry of information technologies and communication of the Kirov region, made a transfer of GIS of the Kirov region on the updated software.

Obtain information on availability of objects of social infrastructure within the Available Environment project, about a covering of the territory of the Kirov region digital television and other important data it is possible using the modern geoportal now.

GIS of the Kirov region is a region geographic information system. It is developed for the purpose of increase in efficiency of activity of executive authorities of the Kirov region due to use of geoinformation technologies as additional information resource in the course of execution of powers and implementation of control functions.

The updated software is the Russian development and has the evident, friendly interface. Geospatial data are loaded much quicker. Now GIS of the Kirov region is available in mobile version that considerably simplifies work with a system from mobile devices. Use of modern technologies of visualization of spatio-temporal data gives additional opportunities for information analysis. The platform has potential of the automated analysis of geospatial information using Big Data approach, has the crowdsourcing function allowing to create forms of collecting of geodata for unauthorized users.

Practically all executive authorities of the Kirov region to some extent use GIS in the work. In a system space data on the territory of the region practically on all basic economically and to socially important spheres are concentrated. For September, 2018 a system is put into trial operation^[1].
