Megafon Tajikistan selects solutions of Acronis for data protection of the clients

On September 25, 2018 to Acronis was announced project completion on implementation of backup systems and disaster recovery for "Megafon by Tajikistan". The telecommunication provider uses the products Acronis Backup Advanced for data security provision on physical and virtual machines, protection of databases and mail services. Daily products of Acronis help the operator to copy and protect up to 40 Tb of information, including the given users of cloud services and sobtvenny IT systems providing support of business processes of the operator.

To provide the high level of availability of services and also to protect data from the possible attacks of programs racketeers the company management made the decision to implement a backup system and automatic disaster recovery.

According to the results of comparison of opportunities of different products an opportunity to provide uniform protection of physical and virtual environments became an important argument for benefit of solutions of Acronis, supporting different operating systems and services. Product introduction began gradually, at first protection of the Microsoft Windows servers was provided. After that backup copies of virtual machines with Linux OS and also SQL databases and the Microsoft Exchange mail server were created. Protection of virtual machines was provided at the expense of products from the Acronis Backup Advanced Virtual Host series.

According to representatives of the company, the created backup system allowed "Megafon Tajikistan" to save considerable means on mirroring of IT capacities. Instead of purchase of additional servers backup copies of virtual machines allow to reach the high level of availability of services at much smaller costs. And as the operator continues to develop the business in the field of cloud services, the IT department of the company plans further expansion of number of bekapiruyemy virtual machines based on VMware and connection to the data warehouse of additional disk arrays.
