2018: Connection of the 10-thousand exchange service station

On September 26, 2018 the 10-thousand exchange service station was connected to the Satellite System of High-speed Access (SSHSA) in the Internet created by Russian Satellite Communications Company (Russian Satellite Communications Company). SSVD provided broadband access in Ka-frequency range in the territory of the Central and Southern Ural regions of Russia, Siberia and the Far East where is absent or traditional network infrastructure is poorly developed. In 2019 the Russian Satellite Communications Company expects to double an indicator of connections.

Coverage of SSVD

The Russian Satellite Communications Company specified that the Satellite system of high-speed access provides with the Internet more than 25 thousand users.

Services are provided via the Russian Express AM6 spacecrafts (53 ° to EL) and Express AM5 (140 ° by EL). Total length of service area in KA range is 7000 km.

The satellite system of high-speed access provides with the Internet those territories of the country where is absent or traditional network infrastructure is poorly developed. First of all SSVD works for rendering services in B2C segment. Technical capabilities of a system allow to connect 200 thousand subscribers with the average speed of Internet access of 6-10 Mbps.

Partners of the Russian Satellite Communications Company (VSAT operators) are engaged in connection of subscribers to SSVD. Among them - JSC Ka-Internet, Strizh LLC, Paduga Internet LLC, JSC РТКомм.РУ (SenSat brand).

For September, 2018 10 thousand subscriber stations were connected to SSVD.

Developers see the main problem in development of services of satellite broadband access in the high price of the equipment in connection with growth of dollar exchange rate against ruble^[1].
