In February, 2018 the UniData company announced implementation of the UniData Platform of Data Management platform in Rtkomm.
Project Progress
As it was reported, in 2017 the decision on start of the big project for which the component ensuring functioning with master data (MDM) for integration of all information systems Rtkomm was required is made. Rtkomm analyzed and selected from the different offers which are available in the market.
The main criteria when choosing the UniData platform became:
- Import substitution;
- The products Open-source, or on their base;
- The volume of labor costs on completion and implementation.
- The platform solution, having implementations on large volumes of data.
- Existence of the platform with Russian-language support and development from vendor.
- The interface in Russian.
- Customizability, possibility of operational completions of the solution.
For the first stage of the project the customer defined several existing information systems and requirements, including for the number of reference books/registers, to amount of data, requirements to functionality and loading are formulated.
For these systems the following works were performed:
- Data of systems are analyzed and the data model is constructed;
- Representations are created and preprocessing of data is carried out;
- Data loading mechanisms, individual for each of subsystems, in UniData are developed and initial loading is made;
- The mechanism of data exchange was developed for each system;
- Basic setup of rules of quality is made;
- Basic setup of rules of quality of data and deduplication is carried out.
Main objectives of the first stage of the project
- Creation of the uniform MDM solution for information processed in a historical IT landscape – the separate information systems Rtkomm.
- Exception of duplication of information input in systems and garbage in data. Consolidation of master data of the transaction, accounting, managerial, technical, personnel systems, workflow systems, systems of logistics of activity.
- Creation of uniform reference reference books and formation of the product directory.
- Creation of basis for analytical reports and acceptance of management decisions, reduction of labor costs when planning volumes of services and preparation of commercial offers.
Effect of implementation
- Reduction of labor costs and simplification of maintaining master data, the general for all business systems due to centralization and reference storage;
- Quality improvement of data using UniData mechanisms (search and elimination of duplicates, enrichment of data, normalization/standardization of data);
- Possibility of data analysis interconnected with the different systems;
- Reduction of labor costs on collecting and data analysis and creation of the reporting, reduction of time of reporting;
- Reduction of time of inspection of potential connection points of services;
- Reduction of terms and labor costs on preparation of commercial offers;
- Possibility of long-term planning of lease of bandwidth, on the basis of the clients given about a geographical binding and volumes of services in agreements and cost optimization on canals;
- Optimization of capital costs at construction of VSAT stations.
Results of the first stage of implementation
(The end of 2017 – the beginning of 2018) the created MDM solution which consolidates information from the main considered and transaction systems (on clients, on products became result of implementation of the first stage: to the equipment, services, rates, on connection points), within which:
- The main systems suppliers of data on clients based on the uniform data model constructed on the main attributes which are selected by the customer for the first stage of implementation are integrated with the UniData platform;
- Connection between basic data of the different systems is established;
- Duplicates are found and eliminated, automatic search and elimination of duplicates is provided;
- Search and elimination of errors is automated, control of correctness of information input is implemented;
- Customer information is centralized and integrated, uniform cards of clients for all information systems are created.
