A series of the ISA/IEC 62443 standards was developed by ISA99 committee as the American national standard and adopted by the International Electrotechnical Commission for use worldwide. ISA/IEC 62443 represents a flexible template for correction of the existing and future vulnerabilities in an APCS.
ISA/IEC 62443-4-2
On September 26, 2018 it became known that the next standard in the ISA/IEC 62443 series — "Security of automated process control systems is published: Technical requirements to security of the APCS components" (ISA/IEC 62443-4-2-2018).
The document orders technical requirements to cyber security of components of an APCS, such as the built-in devices, network components, components of a host and application. The standard describes the safety features allowing components to reflect threats in the set security level without use of the compensating counter-measures.
Standard determination of opportunities of security for system components provides common language for product providers and all other concerned parties. It simplifies processes of purchases and integration of the computers, applications, network equipment and devices making a management system — the expert of Honeywell company Kevin Staggs who headed the working group on development of ISA/IEC 62443-4-2-2018 said.[1] |
ISA/IEC 62443-4-1
In February, 2018 the ISA/IEC 62443-4-1 standard of "The requirement to security of product lifecycle" was published. The document describes requirements to safety of development process of the products used in an APCS and defines safe lifecycle for development and support of the protected products.
