On October 04, 2018 Technoserv announced project completion on creation of the hardware-software complex (HSC) of debugging of design solutions for JSC Severnoye Proyektno-Konstruktorskogo Byuro (Severnoye Design Bureau).

The project of creation of HSC of debugging of design solutions is executed in work flow on an object of capital construction "Modernization in development of design potential in the field of civil shipbuilding" by JSC Northern Design Bureau to St. Petersburg within the Federal target program "Development of Civil Marine Facilities".

Use of 3D technologies - modeling in work of design offices allows to test already in design process the created solutions and to optimize them and also to reduce risks of adoption of incorrect solutions. Our agrarian and industrial complex is intended for three-dimensional visualization of parts and nodes of the developed Bureaus of products and also for the detailed analysis of design solutions of designed projects of big measurings. Thanks to the created solution we optimize configurations and configurations of parts of the developed objects therefore the quality of development of constructions of products increases.

The agrarian and industrial complex included four main subsystems:

  • room of virtual reality,
  • the system of generation 3D - images,
  • system of a large-format stereoprojection,
  • the remote automated workplace of management of a complex.

The room of virtual reality represents a cube – closed from five parties, except for an input, space of 3.500 × 2.187 × 3.500 mm in size (width × height × depth). Three walls (right, left and frontal), a floor and a ceiling are executed in the form of tough screens with special optical coating.

The three-dimensional model of a product moves on an input to the software package consisting of eight graphic stations which break model into a set of two-dimensional images. Graphic stations are connected to seven multimedia stereoprojectors, the image which is projected through the system of mirrors on cube screens is transferred to each of them. The installed models of screens provide high contrast and uniformity of the picture, minimizing, so-called, "a hot spot" of a projector lens. All system of projectors, mirrors and screens is collected in uniform construction by means of frame metal support and provides 3D - a projection.

For viewing 3D - images active stereo glasses and a set of synchronization are used. Interactivity in the project is implemented by the special cameras and sensors trackers of a system of tracking fixed on the head and the viewer's hands. The system of tracking keeps track of arrangement of the person in the room, defines his movements, gaze direction, gives a command of HSC for reorganization of the image therefore the picture for each eye moves.

In addition outside of the room of virtual reality specialists Technoserv unroll the system of a large-format projection which included one more powerful stereoprojector and the big screen of a direct projection of 4064х2540 mm in size stretched on a separate frame. A system is intended for demonstration on the wide screen of a two-dimensional projection of products or a 3D model of products from in advance fixed point for large audience. Besides, the automated workplace of management of HSC is created.

Created for JSC Severnoye Design Bureau agrarian and industrial Complex with the room of virtual reality is not a just small space for viewing 3D - images, and full-fledged "room" in complete understanding of its value. During the project it was necessary to increase the size of mirrors, to change provision of mirrors and projectors to fit into the optical circuit. The area of the created premises allows the viewer to move physically in the vessel model created by specialists of Bureau with complete effect of immersion. In turn, the similar effect gives the chance to understand vessel ergonomics, to estimate its configuration and many other things.
