October 4, 2018 The Avanpost announced end of system implementation of Avanpost IDM in National bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Implementation of Avanpost IDM is executed within the complex project of upgrade of information infrastructure of the bank implemented by AMT Group company. When choosing a system for control and management of lifecycle of accounts of users specialists of AMT Group were guided not only by quality characteristics of the solutions existing in the market, but also the principle of economic feasibility.
In National bank of the Kyrgyz Republic an IDM system for October, 2018 controls about 20 information systems (IS) of different function, and in 10 of them it completely manages access for users, and in the others — carries out the accounting and access control. With IDM all national and significant ICs which are directly servicing the system of interbank settlements of the country are integrated.
At the solution of integration tasks specialists the Avanpost carried out a categorization of all ICs of bank and developed four classes of managing connectors (interface modules) using which the above-stated ICs were connected to Avanpost IDM. It allowed to make architecture of a subsystem of integration more transparent and universal and also to lay the foundation for further connection of additional ICs to the IDM system.
Within this project the complex analysis of a current status of business processes of management of access is carried out, the principles of automation of these processes — taking into account application of Avanpost IDM and its integration with the managed information systems are defined. Then — already on the basis of the working IDM system — the upgraded management processes and access control were implemented in full. As a result considerably the level and completeness of automation of work of Department of information protection increased (regarding management and access control), the volume of routine work on accomplishment of change orders of access rights was reduced, there were control mechanisms (for example, the audit of access rights which is built in Avanpost IDM).
Implementation of an IDM system reduced risks of unauthorized access of users to information systems of bank. As national and significant ICs are connected to IDM, it has a large-scale positive impact for work of all banking system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The systems of the class IDM became one of the most effective instruments of counteraction to modern threats of cybersecurity, including the different computer crimes relying on defects in access control. In banking sector implementation of IDM solutions brings the greatest effect. On the one hand, concentration of money attracts malefactors and promotes use of complex circuits of the crimes by them which often are beyond the separate credit and financial organizations. On the other hand, the high IT maturity of specialists of banking sector, existence of management processes and access control and readiness to optimize them create premises for productive cooperation of the customer and the contractor and for project implementation in which the potential of modern IDM is completely realized.
