Schwab invests 7 billion rubles in the centers of nuclear medicine and proton therapy in Novosibirsk

At the beginning of October, 2018 it became known of creation of a cluster of nuclear medicine and proton therapy based on Novosibirsk State University. Will act as the general contractor in this project Schwab which invests in it about 7 billion rubles, reported "to RBC Novosibirsk" the deputy CEO of holding for research and developmental work and the innovative development Sergey Popov.

According to him, the specified amount is comparable to the cost of a similar  complex which the company   will build in Vladivostok.

The medical cluster of nuclear medicine will consist of three centers: a positron and issue and computer tomography, proton therapy and a pine forest - neutron-capture therapy (BNZT). The Schwabe holding will be engaged in construction of the first two centers. The investor for the third object of a cluster  of NSU — the Center a pine forest - neutron-capture therapy worth 1.5 billion rubles — is not found by the beginning of October, 2018.

In the multifunction center created in Novosibirsk for early diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases the equipment for  a positron and issue and computer tomography, proton  and a pine forest - neutron-capture therapy which  is considered a disruptive method of treatment of malignant tumors will be installed. 

Sergey Popov told journalists that the center  of nuclear medicine will be able to accept up to 12 thousand patients annually, and the center  of proton therapy – 1-1.2 thousand.

After the analysis of a situation in Novosibirsk the decision on expansion of the centers and increase in investment volume can be made. Everything defines demand for medical services" — the representative of holding explained, having added that he Schwab does not exclude a possibility of participation in construction of the third center if the company sees "perspectives of use of this technology [BNZT — Zdrav comment] and a possibility of its replication.[1]
