On October 12, 2018 the Univef company announced implementation of a pilot project on upgrade of a system of outside lighting in Novokuznetsk. The project objective was to estimate efficiency of modern energy-saving technologies of lighting in comparison with traditional on the basis of sodium gas discharge lamps.
In a work progress of Univef together with Management of road municipal services and improvement of City administration of Novokuznetsk and the local enterprise "Gorsvet" made on pilot section of street space replacement of regular console housing and communal services lamps with lamps DNAT-250 on LED MAG2-120-248 lamps with a power of 130 W and also executed cross-validation natural testings of keyword parameters of lighting before installation of light sources. Measurements were taken using the attorney of the equipment according to GOST P 54308-2011 "Public highways. Horizontal illumination from artificial lighting. Control methods".
According to results of tests, use of LED lamps considerably increased quality of road lighting. So, the average illumination of a pilot zone increased by 40%, and uniformity of lighting – for 33%. At the same time the measured indicators of horizontal illumination and uniformity of lighting correspond to normative requirements of the joint venture 52.13330.2016 "Natural and artificial lighting". On pilot section also the level of a color rendition of surrounding objects grew that allows drivers to distinguish better in the dark remote objects and parts of a road marking.
In general, replacement of sodium light sources by LED led to improvement of parameters of energy efficiency of lighting, in particular, electricity consumption decreased by 54%. Besides, in MAG2-120-248 lamps the lack of reactive power losses which at housing and communal services lamps are more than 50% of the consumed electric power is recorded and are additional costs for the electrosupplying organizations.
It should be noted that all LED equipment used in the project has the built-in modules of management which form the connected radio network within the city. It allows to exercise control over each lamp without additional completion of the existing management system for city lighting and to set the modes of its work from the uniform dispatching center.
The events held by us demonstrated that use of a modern lighting system on the basis of LED light sources is capable to improve considerably quality of life and traffic safety in Novokuznetsk. Besides, the received results allow to claim that implementation of this technology on all streets of Novokuznetsk will lead to considerable cutting of costs of the city for power supply and operation of a system of street lighting.
