2018: Announcement
On October 29, 2018 Accuray submitted the new software for the systems of radiation therapy CyberKnife and also technology of synchronization of movements in real time for the Radixact system.
CyberKnife VOLO Optimizer is the software solution for planning of radiation therapy which allows clinical physicians to develop and carry out optimal treatment, reducing time and labor costs. Planning using new software allows to carry out the procedure 40% faster that considerably increases capacity of a system.
The Accuray company also showed the solution for synchronization of respiratory movements in real time. This addition to the Radixact system which allows to trace tumor shift at breath, as appropriate adjusting the plan of radiation therapy. It reduces beam load of healthy fabrics which surround a tumor and also allows to deliver higher dose at the procedure, without being afraid of ghost effects. Besides, this technology also reduces time expenditure as the beam is projected constantly taking into account all range of respiratory movements.
The technology of tracking and control of movements is used also in CyberKnife, but it not the only solution which was added to the Radixact system. Using the newest software of CTrue IR, Radixact is capable to provide to clinical physicians high-quality images with the improved contrast of soft fabrics and decrease in noises that will help them to pick up the most effective therapy quicker.
CyberKnife VOLO Optimizer is officially started and available to sale on October 29, 2018, as well as the software of CTrue IR. The technology of synchronization of respiratory movements in real time for Radixact is not approved yet by regulating authorities and is unavailable to sale.[1]
