At the end of October, 2018 IBM announced start of the platform which among other things will allow the authorities of Dubai to transfer state services to a blockchain.

The solution under the name Dubai Blockchain Platform is positioned as the first service for providing a blockchain platform approved by the authorities of the UAE in service quality.

Earlier in Dubai blockchains-applications for the government institutions which are responsible for  roads, transport, power, health care and  education were started. They were directed to  increase in efficiency of internal functioning of departments.

As reported the CEO of government company Smart Dubai Office (is engaged in creation and implementation of the innovative technologies in infrastructure of Dubai) Aisha Butti Bin Bishr Bandage (Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr) joint about the IBM project allows to start all blockchains-applications in the city via the uniform portal.

The government of Dubai aims at that by the end of 2021 completely to pass to electronic document management and to use a blockchain for various state documents to the 2020th. Besides, it is planned that by 2021 a half of all transactions made by state agencies will be executed in a blockchain.

The Dubai Pay Blockchain Settlement and Reconciliation system intended for acceleration of the state payments will become the first project which will use Dubai Blockchain Platform — financial transactions which took about 45 days earlier, are performed in real time now.

The blockchain platform is developed by IBM to help the local companies with transition to business processes of the foreign organizations and also for digitization of public services. At the same time the platform allows to save sovereignty  and  data security and also to reduce operating expenses, the press release says.
