ActiveCloud unrolled cloud infrastructure for the information system Ascensia Diabetes Care

On October 31, 2018 the ActiveCloud company announced project completion on deployment of multifunction cloud infrastructure with the high level of security for the information system Ascensia Diabetes Care in Russia.

Project Tasks

Before the Russian department of Ascensia Diabetes Care company there was a task to place the information system providing to users of the medical devices released by the company, a possibility of remote condition monitoring of their health. It was necessary to provide reliable and quick access to the application to users of the Contour plus one glucose meter. The considerable amount of computing resources was necessary for implementation of such project. Besides, because of the high competition in the market the application needed to be started as much as possible quickly.

Solve similar problems for the minimum period of time, under conditions of flexible scaling and the high level of security, only cloud infrastructure could. Among requirements of Ascensia Diabetes Care imposed to the potential supplier of cloud IT services were: placement of personal data of clients in Russia, complex support of the solution, availability of information systems is not lower than 99.95%, the high level of information security, etc. Specialists of Ascensia Diabetes Care carried out the analysis of the domestic market of providers of cloud services and system integrators during which they stopped the choice on ActiveCloud company.

Project Progress

Having carefully analyzed requirements of the customer, experts of ActiveCloud prepared the project of placement of infrastructure of the application in a cloud of VMware which functionality allows to implement serious requirements of the customer to security. Experts of ActiveCloud created safe network structure, having separated Web servers (frontend), level of applications and also database servers (bek-and), available from the Internet, on different virtual networks with strict traffic filtering between them on the virtual fayervoll with microsegmentation.

The team of experts of ActiveCloud also developed the engineering design on deployment of the infrastructure systems within which domain controllers, a file cluster of SIOS Datakeeper, a cluster of SQL Always On, Web servers and application servers were installed and configured. In total about 20 servers were involved in the project.

Project Results

All services are implemented in failsafe option: as at the level of the hardware which is provided with reliability of a cloud, and at the programming layer of applications of the customer to guarantee high availability of service to clients of Ascensia Diabetes Care.

In a project deliverable the information system of the customer works in multifunction cloud infrastructure with the high level of security and technical support. Personal data of domestic clients, according to Federal law 242-FZ, are placed in Russia. Availability of information systems makes not lower than 99.95%. The customer is confident in absolute legality of all software which is used for the project.
