Andrey Borisov, AiTeco: 1C – it is available, seriously and for a long time
At the beginning of 2018 AiTeco received the multibrand partner status of 1C Company infrequent in practice of work of the Russian vendor. About why the company decided to be engaged in implementation of domestic solutions and what perspectives of this direction, in an interview of TAdviser Andrey Borisov, the head of competence center of 1C of department of infrastructure projects of AiTeco told.
AiTeco implements many years solutions on the basis of SAP, Oracle, Microsoft and other foreign vendors. Why decided to become the partner of 1C Company? And why right now?
Andrey Borisov: Everything is very simple – forced the market. And matter not only in import substitution how many it is aware of currencies, limited number of developers of the foreign systems and cost of the specialists accompanying these systems. As a result, many clients look towards the domestic software of which, to put it mildly, so far it is a little.
1C Company began to develop corporate solutions for big customers relatively recently and for the same reason – it forced realities: the companies franchisees and partners began actively to try "adapt" different configurations of 1C for requirements of big customers. However it became clear that business market significantly differs: it is difficult, individual, but not "korobochno". Focusing on business processes and specifics of business, but not on a possibility of software is necessary.
Thus, it is already not just about implementation of information systems, and even not about IT projects, and about business projects in which the IC – an important, but not the main component. Only players with experience of the solution of complex projects, management consulting and serious IT practice can carry out such tasks. For today there was an uncommon situation: demand and the market are, and contractors are not enough. And clients begin to be developed towards 1C in search of full-fledged commands.
So emergence of practice of 1C is, including, reply to the requests from clients? What sort clients are in solutions of 1C Company most actively interested?
Andrey Borisov: It is really reply to the requests of clients – from the state corporations and natural monopolies to large commercial structures. We (a command of 1C in AiTeco) are interesting to small and medium business little: it is too global, in a complex, that in this sector is excessive, and therefore it is expensive. Yes we also do not chase information and technology maintenance - it is not our business. Our personnel are rather competent for project implementation of a full stroke: from a methodological part (techniques of planning, budgeting, accounting, design of processes) and customization of configurations before trial operation and the help to clients at implementation: deployment, setup, training.
Behind the back of a command there is even an experience of creation of configurations from scratch when standard solutions in the market just did not exist, and the solution was necessary here and now. Then "the blank platform" undertook, and absolutely unique configuration, unique, on BSP was developed (library of standard subsystems – a set of subsystems for configurations on the 1C: Enterprise platform). By the way, she still successfully works and wins prizes.
If to speak about sectors of economy, then it both the logistic companies, and retail, and the food industry, and mechanical engineering. The last two industries "came" to AiTeco together with a command which consists of three groups of specialists with solid experience:
- works in machine and automotive industry, shipbuilding;
- automation of large enterprises of the food sector, including dairy and meat-processing productions, specialized networks (with low-temperature transportation, 2500 points of a delivery, in each city of the Russian Federation numbering more than half a million people, "skoroporty", and therefore very exact and difficult planning);
- automation of public services and executive authorities.
What your forecast concerning dynamics of the product demand of 1C from large business?
Andrey Borisov: The term from the last century – "products 1C" is not really clear to me. It something from the box series, and not important what: "1C: Accounting", "1C: Payroll and HR Management", "1C:ERP", "1C: Holding Management" or some other. These are not products, but the nomenclature of configurations. For analogy: what is a product of bank – customer accounts or services of mortgage lending, car loans, enhancement of the capital of clients at the expense of deposits and investments? Of course, the last – what implements specific needs of clients solves their problems and problems. What solves "the boxed solution", not an essence important whose – 1C, SAP or Oracle, – what needs of the client satisfies? It is a product? No. Such simplification of the purposes of IT projects is torn off from realities for a long time, and therefore it is wrong.
And IT projects in the market of implementation of ERP systems in large enterprises as such do not exist: there are business projects in which IT – only a component, tools. Therefore all projects implemented by our command are projects not of "implementation of ERP", and implementations of operational production accounting at the enterprise. Implementations not "1C: Holding Management", but methodologies and planning processes and budgeting. Not developments of the digital double of a product, but reduction of design time of products due to implementation of mechanisms of concurrent engineering and/or design under the set cost. However, the last after all any more not absolutely subject of 1C. In this case 1C can act only as a component of architecture of the IC, for example, as the MDM solution for management of NSI. By the way, the analysis and development of architecture of the IC for the specific enterprise – with its features, processes, techniques, the purposes and restrictions are a product too. And too our standard product, though it already at all not about 1C, and about consulting.
Product – not "box", but the solution of the specific problems of the client connected, say, with theft of meat or finished goods at the enterprises; or with inefficient stocks and management of them; production accounting; absence or inaccuracy of planning; consolidation of information and its turn in required analytical cuts, with cleaning of intra group turnovers. This a product which yields to business accurate and clear result.
Implementation of an information system as end in itself gives to the enterprise only licenses, costs and capitalization. When I hear that it is necessary to implement "1C:ERP" there, I always want to ask: for what do all of you do it? If for the solution of specific objectives of business, then we are ready to help. If "because it is necessary" – let's specify the purposes.
Well, you do not implement the calculator or Excel. You make calculations, or build pivot tables, or write macroes on a BASIC for calculations which cannot be implemented standard functionality of Excel. And so implementation of 1C is almost analogy (thanks to the platform!), simple a little more difficult in settings and coding, but not so to bring it to the mega-task level.
Undoubtedly, it is important to know the tool. Therefore in our command there are also experts in the platform, and professionals in "1C:ERP", – all certificates and the statuses of specialists, including on "1C: Holding Management" and "1C: Payroll and HR Management", not to count. At the same time I want to accent that it is possible to receive certificates and the statuses, and here only the one who executed about ten projects has an experience and knowledge of processes of the specific enterprises. And not just deployments "1C: something", and the analysis of business processes of the customer, study of the best solutions under them and – the most important – implementations of the proposed solutions. Notice, implementations not of software, namely the business solutions approved with business and implemented based on the same by 1C.
When the person on experience tests that such business solution (we will tell when mix in a tank can turn sour because in the IC an incorrect compounding; crews can not leave because the plan is incorrectly simulated; the pipeline can rise because vehicle sets to China need to be ordered in 6 months, and dealers can change orders in 3 months prior to date of production), – then he will become the true professional. But not when will pass examination in 1C. Though I will repeat: at us all personnel are certified by 1C Company, and not the simplest certificates, and at everyone experience with 1C from 8 to 15 years.
This is also a product: knowledge of the enterprises, specifics and ability to solve business challenges, but not knowledge of products of 1C Company in the form of certain configurations. Only in such product business, but not believes in banal sale of licenses or minimum "tuning" of boxed solutions now. Here on it is and there will be demand, and there are practically no such services in the domestic market.
Whether practice of 1C in AiTeco is capable to catch up and overtake on business volumes your practicians according to SAP solutions, Oracle, Microsoft?
Andrey Borisov: For this purpose it is necessary to know volumes the practician of SAP, Oracle and Microsoft, and in similar projects. As personally I do not know them, similar estimates – not my profile. Yes we so also do not put a question: catch up and distillate. Our purpose in other: bring practice of 1C to the level of such integrator which can implement any complex projects of the market, up to the holdings consisting of dozens of the plants, networks and difficult productions. This the purpose which will bring market recognition. And recognition, in turn, will give new clients, as will allow to develop business. There will be it more or less than someone – everything is relative.
In what, in your opinion, strengths of products of 1C and in what these products should catch up with competitors?
Andrey Borisov: Force of 1C in simplicity, reaction speeds, oddly enough will sound, in functionality and configurability, in a possibility of completion and customization with a minimum of costs. Yes, the platform (I emphasize – the platform) took an enormous step forward. It is not that any more 1C which all remember according to version 7.7 and even 8.2. It is the serious platform on which it is possible to make almost any configurations under well-known tasks. And in it too force, as configurations, exaggerating, – thousands. Any command respecting itself was engaged in release of "the" configurations, other question – what for? It says about flexibility and universality of the platform. Yes, PLM on 1C, most likely, will not be, and especially CAD systems: 1C solves other problems, but solves them amazingly simply and flexibly.
Force in number of programmers, a name to them – a legion. And this huge advantage of 1C: clients do not need to wait for half a year when someone and somewhere in far India issues the code which, despite the set currency, will consider everything in rupees. And then still to remake conditional half a year.
Weakness – in the insufficient number of analysts and consultants. It should be noted that competent analysts and business consultants – a problem of all Russian IT market, and not just 1C. We have many cool programmers, but few sensible analysts. That effects were clear: provide that you have cool printers who can work with any equipment and print any books, but there are no good writers who can write though something worthy and interesting to readers.
In what feature of the status "multibrand partner of 1C" given to AiTeco?
Andrey Borisov: The feature of the multibrand partner status is that the AiTeco company can be engaged not only in 1C, but also other vendors that, so to say, is not absolutely standard.
What number of specialists in 1C in staff of AiTeco? What plan of hiring of such specialists?
Andrey Borisov: We collected an optimum of specialists for implementation of the current pool of corporate projects. The team made almost completely is not hundreds of employees, of course, but also not ten. At the same time I answer for each of them. We together work with some on projects nearly ten years. With others automated machine-building production on status projects of 1C, including on the solutions "1C:ERP", "1C: Holding Management". With the third transferred processes of the companies to cloud solutions based on technology "to 1C: Fresh". I am convinced that it is some of the best profile specialists, analysts and consultants who so are not enough in the market. Plus we have own teams of high quality programmers, including in regions: Samara and Novosibirsk.
Plans of set completely depend on the current preseyl. It can be also evolutionary development, and there can be also "Big Bang". Now it is difficult to predict precisely therefore we prepare the base for development of both scenarios.
Whether you consider the possibility of establishment of partnership with other domestic vendors, for example, with Galaktika?
Andrey Borisov: Think over this question there was no essential occasion yet. Intersections are, we see them and we solve routinely. But it is not so global questions to give them the status of the highest priorities. Time will show, but so far it is difficult to comment.
