2018: Release of the program
At the Chrome Dev Summit conference in San Francisco in November, 2018 Google announced the VisBug tool which many times simplifies editing the Internet page. Thanks to this program to be engaged in web-design users, even not familiar with it, will be able.
VisBug is available in the form of expansion to the Chrome browser. It can be downloaded in the Chrome Web Store directory.
Programmers of Google connect VisBug with the debugger of web applications of Firebug which initially was expansion for the Firefox browser, but then closed this project and transferred to Chrome.
As notes the edition ZDNet, VisBug really reminds Firebug, but the first differs in the intuitive interface: instead of work with the source code of the web page the new solution just allows developers to drag its elements (drag-and-drop) and to place their several mouse clicks (point-and-click).
After the VisBug installation it is necessary to click on the keyboard Alt key shortcut + SHIFT + D for start expansions. It can be used only for editing already created web pages and templates — to create the websites from scratch it will not turn out.
The main VisBug interface represents the toolbar displayed in the left part of the screen. With its help it is possible to move Internet page elements, to edit the text, to create permanent members of the page and also to change text color, shades, brightness and saturation of images, etc.
Google pays attention that by November, 2018 the functionality of VisBug is limited, and expansion can be considered not the full-fledged tool for web-design and supplementing.
ZDNet confirms that possibilities of VisBug can be built in Chrome Developer Tools, but only they only serve for completion of the current design of the page. For example, it is more convenient to web developer to use VisBug for small visual settings instead of code optimization of CSS.[1]
