In Severstal the project on creation of a prototype of a system of industrial security came to the end

On October 15 the "BDO Unicon Business of Solutions" company announced completion of creation of a prototype of a control system of fulfillment of requirements of the security regulation (SR) on the basis of the analysis of the video image. According to the company, development was executed jointly with specialists of management in development of technologies of JSC Severstal-infokom and Mechanical repair shop of MTs "SSM-Tyazhmash" of PJSC Severstal.

The "BDO Unicon Business of Solutions" command was faced by a task to find IT solution which would allow to define on the basis of the automatic analysis of the video image received from shop video cameras the fact of violation of TB – namely finding of personnel in dangerous proximity from a load – and to quickly report about it to specialists in TB.

The artificial neural network of YOLO which training cycle for October, 2018 made 44 hours on the "BDO Unicon Business of Solutions" server is the cornerstone of a prototype. The network takes the image from the camera and identifies on it the person. The algorithm developed by experts of the company defines a load on the image, cutting excess objects, and on the basis of the two-dimensional image determines three-dimensional coordinates of the person and a load (the load size, height above the ground, distance from a load to the person). In the nature such problem is solved by stereosight (using two eyes), and for this development under the terms of the customer it was solved on the basis of monosight – using the image only from one video camera. If the combination of three-dimensional coordinates corresponds to a dangerous situation (finding of the person at distance less than one meter from a load or under a load provided that the load is raised above the ground by one meter and more), a system sends a signal in the form of e-mail with the copy of the image to the responsible.

During development the "BDO Unicon Business of Solutions" command overcame a number of difficulties, for example, on filtering of the necessary objects on the image and cut-off of visual noise and also on conversion of two-dimensional coordinates of the video image to a 3D coordinate system, and then 3D coordinates in location on the image of the plan of workshop. As a result it was succeeded to achieve the adequate accuracy of determination of coordinates for the solution of a task. For increase in these indicators and decrease in influence of noise on system operation it is in the future possible to use the principle of stereosight and to equip workshop platforms with additional video cameras.

Important advantage of the developed prototype was the fact that the tools used for development – artificial neural networks, OpenCV libraries and the Python programming language – are Open Source. It will allow potential customers to lower solution purchase costs (purchase of licenses is not required) and also to use the created solution within the import substitution program.
