2018: Transformer of the dry ABB Ability TXpert Dry type

On December 5, 2018 ABB announced start of the line of digital transformers of dry type (without oil) called by ABB Ability TXpert Dry, and one more product under the name TXpand intended for power transformers.

ABB Ability TXpert Dry integrates the modern opportunities given by digital technologies with the dry transformers of ABB company checked by time. For cooling and isolation of transformers usually use oil, but transformers of dry type are intended for work without oil where the core and coils are cooled with air and are isolated by non-inflammable solid insulating material. It does them more eco-friendly and safe as the possibility of ignition of oil is absent. Such transformers are ideal for application in conditions with high requirements for fire safety, for example, in the sea industry and also for densely populated areas and sensitive ecosystems.

Intelligent sensors collect data on operation of the transformer, and the subsequent analysis of data retrieveds allows to receive objective and timely analytics concerning quality of the electric power, data of self-checking and assessment of a residual resource of the transformer. The provided line of dry transformers ensures the increased safety and reliability of work, reduces time of unforeseen shutdowns and optimizes productive activity.
