Akstel-Bezopasnost increased the level of information protection of a web resource of the Krasnoyarsk state medical university

On December 6, 2018 the kompayeniya of "Akstel-Bezopasnost" objyavlit about completion of the implementing solution PT Application Firewall for protection of the internal portal against the external attacks at the Krasnoyarsk state medical university of a name of professor V.F. Voyno-Yasenetsky (KRASGMU).

According to the company, experts of university with assistance of FSB booked audit and critical vulnerabilities of the internal portal for students and teachers are revealed. For the purpose of increase in level of information protection of the main resource of the university there was a question of upgrade of the website in terms of information security.

During search of the necessary solution IT specialists of university carried out market research. A required system had to have following features:

• the safe publication of materials on the portal;
• secure access to services, the public Internet;
• existence of functionality of inspection of SQL queries;
• protection against zero day attacks;
• certification of FSTEC.

The solution PT Application Firewall became the optimal software meeting all the requirements of the university. Within the procurement procedure the Akstel-Bezopasnost company became the winner of competition on delivery of the solution. The Axoft company acted as IT distributor of the project.

System implementation was carried out by forces of IT specialists of university with involvement of experts of vendor, with assistance of the first line of technical support of the partner. Within work changes were made to the principles of the publication of the portal, connection it to public network.

During operation of a system it became clear that load of a system exceeded calculated values in the selected configuration and there was a task of traffic handling optimization. The PT Application Firewall installation on Wednesday to virtualization with necessary increase in power resources became the solution of this task. We plan further development of the solution: let's prolong technical support for 2019, to expand functionality by acquisition of P-Code technology for target protection in real time. A system carries out assigned tasks, the product proved as the stable solution preventing the attacks from the outside, and the partner and the producer proved customer-oriented and flexible in solution of the problems.
