According to producers, a system is compatible to the majority of brands of the garage gate made after 1993 which have standard sensors of security.
The application using which control is exercised is available both to phones running Android, and to iOS.
Basic functions include:
- opening and closing of a garage door using the smartphone irrespective of location of the owner;
- receiving warnings in real time when the door of a garage opens or closed. At the same time the owner can configure notifications.
In addition, the user it is possible to connect a system to other services among which there are Nest, Wink, Xfinity Home Google Assistant, IFTTT Alpine. Binding of an account of MyQ with any of services requires a subscription fee in the amount of 1$/month (or 10$/year). However basic functions, such as opening, closing and obtaining notifications on a status of gate, are in the standard plan of the MyQ application and do not require the mezzanine board.
A system can be useful in cases when the remote control a garage door fails or needs to provide access to someone to another when the owner is outdoors.
The original price of MyQ in Amazon was $100, but later fell up to $80.[1]
