On December 7, 2018 at a ceremony of opening of Samsung Electronics provided the biggest Onyx 3D screen. It is set at the Capital Cinema located near Sichen in Beijing, China which enters the five of the best movie theaters of the country selling tickets.
This project of Samsung noted great demand for modern technologies in the market of movie theaters worldwide, note in the company.
Samsung for the first time released Onyx in July, 2017 with intention to create brighter and large-scale screen for movie theaters as an alternative to traditional projectors. Width of the first model was about 10 meters.
In a type of high consumer demand for superbig screens and requests from business the new Samsung Onyx model has width of 14 meters. The new Onyx option 1.4 times wider and has almost twice the big area in comparison with original model.
The display installed in Capital Cinema combines permission 4K, image quality of HDR and the maximum level of brightness 88fL — is almost six times more, than standard projectors. More deep black color and more bright white color allow to create contrast from absolutely black to is dazzling bright. Onyx also supports 3D and Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) that does it suitable for display of different formats. In combination with the Onyx Sound system from Harman JBL the LED Onyx Cinema screen is the complete solution which offers the audience fascinating impressions of viewing.

LED Samsung Onyx screens of the smaller size are installed also in Los Angeles and Arena Cinemas Sihlcity movie theater in Zurich, Switzerland.[1][2]
